(I received a Doodle Dome to keep and share my honest opinions with you)

The Glow Crazy Doodle Dome is a portable pop-up tent where your little one (Ages 3 and up recommended) can go inside and draw on the special glow wall. They have a Glow Crazy light pen (2 AAA batteries required) and stencils to let their imaginations run wild.

The Girl was super excited when this arrived! She loves to be my helper. The Girl helped get all the pieces out for me.

Set up is very easy. Just pull out the wall supports and poof a tent.

Got the pen ready to go and she was off in the tent to draw.

I wanted to get pictures, but wasn’t sure with her bedroom light on, and me holding the tent flap up if I could get any. I was happily surprised I could get some, and could easily see what she was drawing even though I couldn’t go in too.

I really couldn’t tell a difference inside whether her bedroom light was on or not. The pen draws really well. She didn’t have as much luck with the stencils, but she is a little slower at doing those than free drawing. The lines fade, but not too fast that she couldn’t enjoy what she made.

This is really a one child at a time tent (unless they are pretty small). The Girl is almost 5 (more the size of a 6 year old), and she had plenty of room. I tried to get in by myself, but that did not work well even at just 5 foot 5 inches tall.

What I didn’t realize is that it would be an interactive toy for the cat as well. Princess Butterscotch kept pawing at the tent, and I couldn’t figure out what her deal was. Well if you look on the outside where the glow wall is you can just barely see the blue light of the pen through it. So like a laser pointer cat toy she was all over this. Also found her in the tent later, which meant having to check it before bedtime and shutting the door.

One little tip, keep your manual! I had to look at mine to get it put back in the bag again. It was a little tricky to get it flattened and twisted back up again.

We would recommend this toy for these reasons:
It’s portable with it’s own carrying bag
It works even with lights on
Tents are always fun for kids

Only con I could find was that it could be hard for more than one child to be in it. It measures about 40 inches tall and 32 inches square on the bottom. Top of The Girl’s head is at the word “Crazy” (appropriately enough).
