Ah, summer. It’s my favorite time of year – I actually love having the kids home with me and I know I’ll be sad when my son heads off to school full-day. Even though I work from home and we have been spending a lot of time at home this summer, we still have been having a blast. The kids have been playing in the backyard, we have been taking walks around the neighborhood and playing all sorts of games around the house. The one thing I don’t love about my house in the summer? Bugs. I absolutely can’t stand them – but who really can?!

With my 16 month old twins just really starting to walk well, they are all about exploring every nook and cranny in our house. And being 16 month old toddlers, they like to put every single thing they come across in their mouth. The other day they crawled up our stairs with me behind them and they paused right at our back door and started grabbing. When I took a closer look, I realized they were ants! I got the girls out of there right away and grabbed my secret weapon – a can of the Hot Shot® Ant & Roach Plus Germ Killer in Fresh Floral Scent. I’m lucky that this was the first sign of ants this summer and I’m even more lucky they didn’t become Olivia and Evie’s mid-day snack!

Hot Shot

Even though we are making ourself at home this summer, I’m not going to let bugs make themselves at home! After getting the girls in their high chairs, I sprayed the Hot Shot® Ant & Roach Plus Germ Killer all along our baseboards and doors where they could come in. The good news is that I haven’t seen them since! I’m thankful that there is a brand like Hot Shot® Insecticides who wants to help me keep my home free of pests at an affordable price!

With all the time we have been spending outside, I’m glad we haven’t seen any wasps or hornets. A few summers ago we had a hornets nest lodged in the front of our house and it was honestly frightening! Back then, my husband used Hot Shot® Wasp & Hornet Killer3 aerosol to actually kill the nest. We haven’t seen any of those buggers around our yard, but I’ve got a can that I keep in the house just in case. With my 3 kids loving to play outside, I don’t want any unwanted guests hanging around them!

My husband is the Bug Hero in our house. Although if you give me a Hot Shot can, I can be a Bug Hero too! Just don’t ask me to kill a bug with a tissue. ;)

I love the addition of the germ killer! We have a bad wasp problem in the summer so we always have the wasp killer on hand. It really does the job.

I’m the bug hero and I’m not happy about it. It is what it is though. I can’t stand bugs, can not STAND them, so somebody has got to fight the good fight.

I’m not a fan of bugs, at all. We have a service that comes out quarterly and sprays something, but if we notice bugs before the next treatment, we do spray something. My husband does it so I’m not sure what it is. I’ll tell him about this.
