Mothers give us so many things: love, advice, friendship. I really love having a special day every year to show them just how much they mean to me! This year, I would love to give them a gift that is not only , but is also thoughtful and practical. A journal from Paperblanks would be something that they would keep and cherish for years to come!
Paperblanks journals, dayplanners and address books provide moms with their own place for self-expression, letting them capture their thoughts and memories, plan their day and maintain their contacts in books that are beautiful, truly unique and designed of the highest quality. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Paperblanks, whose quality writing journals provide users with a personal place for self-expression. Each unique design is inspired by world art and culture, celebrating centuries of creativity and encouraging an ongoing connection to the written world.
Inspired by the works of visionaries, rebels and artists across the ages, Paperblanks products embody a true story behind every design. With most designs taking years to license and develop, each Paperblanks product draws a connection to global art and culture that users can see and feel in each and every book.
Paperblanks sent me three very lovely journals to review. The first is the Golden Fuschia Midi from the Brocaded Paper Collection:
This exquisite texture is made by the process of gold leaf blocking. The pretty swirls and floral patterns are reminiscent of silk damask and leather wall coverings of the early 16th century in Europe. The cover has a slight shimmer of glitter to further accentuate the gold leaf. It is really impressive in person.
The Blush Pink Midi from the Silver Filigree Collection:
This intricate design was originally created and handcrafted in Germany circa 1800. You can almost feel that it has history while holding it in your hands. The design has an amazing tactile quality. The cover was crafted by die cutting a base layer of silver sheets and then grooves were etched, completing the gilded and polished motif. Other details include a beautiful pattern on the fore edge and a detailed metal latch that finishes the journal perfectly.
The Bleu Midi from the French Ornate Collection.
Inspiration for this design comes form the Chinese “Silk Road”. Elaborate designs were created by artisans after the invention of the silk loom in 1804. The shimmering gold design book looks and feels luscious in your hand. The jewel tone colors come together beautifully and the band details around the binding are soft and complete the gorgeous journal.
All three books are breathtakingly gorgeous. They are 5 X 7 inches and of the highest quality in construction and craftmanship. They come with a ribbon marker, 144 pages and a very useful memento pouch hidden inside the back cover.
The Bleu Midi and the Golden Fuschia Midi both have magnetic closures, while the Blush Pink Midi has the aforementioned metal clasp.
Paperblanks uses Smythe Sewn binding so when the books are open, it is easy as possible to write. The paper is thick and the various pens I used did not bleed through. It is also derived from sustainable sources.
Paperblanks offers over 300 elegant designs. You can purchase products online and in more than 2,000 bookstores, museums and stationary shops in North America alone. Suggested retail pricing for all designs ranges from $6.99 to $29.95.
