It’s the beginning of 2015 which means most people made New Year’s Resolutions. It seems like every year, people make resolutions to lose weight and get fit – and I’m no exception! I’ve been on a weight loss journey for the past 6 months and it’s been so great to use technology to help me along. Below are some of my favorite pieces of technology and apps to help YOU keep your resolution to lose weight and get fit this year.
Fitness Technology from Verizon Wireless
FitBit
My FitBit Flex has been a huge help in motivating me to keep moving. It racks all of the steps you have taken, distance covered and calories burned. It lets you know how many minutes are actually active minutes too so you can compare it to your workout time.
It’s super comfortable on my wrist and comes in a variety of colors. I love that it syncs to my app on my iPhone easily so I can check how I’m doing throughout the day.

PowerBeats by Dr. Dre Headphones
If there’s one thing I hate it’s when I’m at the gym working out, in a good groove and then my headphones pop out. It slows me down and knocks me off the game but these PowerBeats by Dr. Dre Headphones are lightweight and keep in place with bendable ear hooks.
They are also sun and sweat-resistant plus powerful enough to keep out all of that gym noise so you can focus on your music!

Runtastic Libra Body Mass Index Scale
I don’t have this but I love the idea of it! It’s a scale that interacts with your smartphone or tablet and analyzes important body metrics including weight, body fat and water percentages, muscle and bone mass, BMI, BMR and AMR (calories burned).
There’s no need to record it all down yourself because it will automatically do it for you – plus, you can customize up to 8 users on the scale!

Apps
Lose It
I know there are a lot of people that use My Fitness Pal but I’ve been using Lose It for the past year and love it. It’s simple to use – just input what you’ve eaten for the day {it even has a barcode to scan packages} and it will add up your calories, fat, carbs, etc.
You can set weight loss goals, add your workouts, connect with friends and more!
7 Minute Workout
Can’t get to the gym but still want to get a workout in? 7 minutes doesn’t seem like much but with the 7 Minute Workout app, you’ll watch a workout that shows animated illustrations of the exercise as it also give you audio cues too.
Fitness Buddy
Again, if you’re looking to do some workouts at home but not exactly sure WHAT to do, download Fitness Buddy. There’s over 1,700 exercise to check out that include photos and video. No matter what you’re looking to do – lose weight or tone up – you’ll find an exercise for you!
RunKeeper
RunKeeper is an app that I’ve been using for a few years. It doesn’t matter if you run or walk, the app connects to your GPS and lets you know the distance you have covered and what your pace was. It cheers you on, keeps track of what you have done and motivates you with push notifications. You can also connect with friends who are also using the app.
What are some of your favorite apps and technology to help with weight loss and fitness?
Disclosure: As member of a pretty cool team of influencers, I have received some great items from Verizon Wireless. No additional compensation was provided nor did I promise positive feedback. All opinions are my own.
