The Titanic Attraction in Branson, Missouri

Everyone knows about the Titanic. I vividly remember seeing the movie 13 years ago and just wanting to learn more.

One of the best places to learn more about the Titanic is the Titanic Attraction in Branson, Missouri.

When traveling down the main strip in Branson, you won’t be able to miss the giant replica of the Titanic Ship!

Outside of the Titanic Attraction

Heath, Hayden and I boarded the Titanic with our boarding passes. Each boarding pass had the name of a real passenger that was aboard the Titanic. We would then be able to find their names as we toured the ship.

When you enter the Titanic Museum, you will learn all about the construction of the Titanic. I recommend purchasing tickets for audio equipment. Similar to a telephone and on a string you can wear around your neck, you are able to press a button to learn more about the displays you are looking at.

Adults will love looking at all of the artifacts that are actually from the ship. I’m a huge history buff, so I loved seeing all of the actual artifacts and learning more about the passengers.

They also have replicas of a third-class cabin and a first-class cabin. It’s amazing to see the difference.

Third-Class Cabin

Can you believe that 4 people at the very bottom of the ship would sleep in this little room?

First-Class Cabin

You can also walk the Grand Staircase. In your head, you might just be signing “My Heart Will Go On”…

The Titanic Museum is fun for children too!

In honor of the dogs that were on the ship, they have Cocker Spaniels that are the mascots of the ship.

Adorable Cocker Spaniels are the Mascots!

Kids love them!

There are also fun and interactive things for children to do!

Children can shovel coal into the furnace to learn how the Titanic was powered, climb three different decks that are slanted according to when the ship was sinking and also stick their fingers into ice-cold water to see how long you could last in the freezing cold waters.

Climb the slanted decks!

There are several fun things happening with the Titanic Museum this year!

Beginning Aug. 1, 2011, couples will have the opportunity to have their wedding on the spectacular $1 million Grand Staircase of the Titanic. Future brides can enter to win their own “Royal Wedding” in April 2012. Titanic Museum Attractions will pay homage to the 12 honeymooning couples on board the RMS Titanic with its “Royal Wedding” contest. Online voting will select a winning couple to be married on the Grand Staircase.

In April of 2012, it will mark 100 years since the Titanic went down.  In July, guests who visits the museum can personally become involved in its special tribute to the passengers and crew by depositing a single rose petal into a container in the Memorial Gallery.

On April 15, 2012 – exactly 100 years after the RMS Titanicwas lost – each of the rose petals will be carefully laid onto the surface of the Atlantic Ocean directly where the Titanic sank.

To pay tribute to the birthplace of the RMS Titanic in Ireland, Titanic Museum Attractions will give away a total of six 11-day trips for two to Belfast, Ireland (where Titanic was built) at its Pigeon Forge, Tenn. and Branson, Mo. locations. The “Back to Titanic 100th Year ‘Tour Ireland’ Sweepstakes” begins June 13, 2011. All details are available online at www.TitanicAttraction.com and contestants can enter daily online. Winners will be announced Feb. 14, 2012.

Make sure to visit the official page of the Titanic Attraction for more information on all of the events taking place!

I highly recommend making a stop at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Branson, Missouri.  We toured the museum in a little over an hour with Hayden. If you’re going with older children or especially by yourself, you can definitely spend 2 hours or more absorbing it all!

Family-Friendly Fun in Branson, Missouri!

A few weeks ago, we packed up our car and headed off for a mini road-trip. We were headed to one of the most family-friendly places you’ll ever visit!

Branson, Missouri!

Living only 5 hours from Branson, we have visited quite a few times. In fact, it was the first place that we ever took Hayden on vacation when he was only 4 months old!

Heath and I have been visiting Branson, Missouri ever since we started dating. That’s the thing about Branson! It’s for everyone! Couples, families with both young and older children and older adults!

We were in Branson for 4 days and they were jam packed full of fun!

We arrived at the Welk Resort, where we would be staying for 3 nights. We had never stayed there before and I was excited to check it out, especially after I read about the Splash-a-torium.

The Welk Resort, named after entertainer Lawrence Welk, is close enough to the Branson Strip, but far enough that you are not fighting traffic to get into your resort or be bothered by noise.

Not only is there the indoor/outdoor Splash-a-torium, there is also another quiet pool, mini-golf, playground, workout center and a seasonal restaurant and theater!

The restaurant and the theater were not open when we were there, but we had fun exploring the resort. We played a round of mini-golf with Hayden and he explored the playground.

We spent a lot of time at the Splah-a-torium, which is 10,000+ square feet of water fun! It’s a combination of indoor and outdoor water play, complete with splash pads for the little ones and big slides for the older kids and adults!

I hadn’t been on a water slide in about 15 years, but I was convinced to do the one here! Yup, I’m still scared. I just can’t do water slides!

We had a standard room with 2 Queen size beds and it was plenty of room for the three of us. The resort seemed to be an older resort and we had issues with keeping our room cool, but it wasn’t too big of a deal!

The entire resort has FREE Wi-Fi, which is a big deal for me! I like to stay connected! ;-)

There is also a concierge in the lobby, waiting to help you with any questions you have!

We spent the next few days visiting fun places like the Dixie Stampede, Silver Dollar City, White Water, the Branson Showboat Belle and more! I can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Experience the Summer Spectacular in Branson!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hiltons of Branson. All opinions are 100% mine.

My family and I love Branson. We used to go several times a year, but now with Hayden we only make it once a year.

If you’re looking for somewhere great to stay, look no further than the Branson Landing! Branson Landing offers two great hotels, Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel and Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing

The Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing is directly on Lake Taneycomo and overlooks all the great shopping and restaurants at Branson Landing! The rooms are gorgeous and they have several packages they are offering right now, including 25% off and a Bed and Breakfast package!

The Hilton Branson Convention Center is located right downtown, across the street from the Branson Landing. It is also connected to the Branson Convention Center, making it great for business travelers! They also have some great packages going on, like the 25% off and get a free breakfast!

What’s great about both these hotels is that they are within easy driving distance of Branson’s championship golf courses like the Payne Stewart Golf Club managed by Hilton, as well as beautiful lakes, museums, theme parks and 49 live entertainment theaters. With so much to offer, this exciting vacation community is perfect for everyone!

Wondering what else to do in Branson?

First, take a walk around Branson Landing! Tons of shops including the Disney Store, Bass Pro Outlet, White House Black Market, Bath and Body Works and much much more! Great restaraunts include Shorty Smalls (our favorite!), Joe’s Crab Shack and Ernie Biggs Piano Bar!

There are tons of events always happening at the Branson Lansding. Last month we were actually there during the Colgate Country Showdown. It was packed and a gorgeous site in front of the fountains!

Last month we made sure to go to Silver Dollar City, Ride the Ducks and Moonshine Beach! And don’t forget the Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Dixie Stampede and so much more!

On The Road Again….

As you are reading this we are most likely driving down to Branson, Missouri! We go to Branson a lot, because Heath’s Mom gets us a condo down there (Thanks Lynn!).

I’m baffled by friends who go there and say they hated it, were bored and there was nothing to do? Really? Because I’m pretty sure it’s like the Midwest’s Las Vegas. Minus the gambling.

I mean, who doesn’t want to go see The Baldknobbers Jamboree Show? It’s fully of lots of hillbilly laughs.

Confession. I have seen the show. And I did laugh.

No, we plan on doing what we usually do. Relax, BBQ, swim.

Go to Silver Dollar City.

Ride A Duck.

Shop and Eat at Branson Landing.

We might even visit the Moonshine Beach at Table Rock Lake. Yes, I said Moonshine.

That’s Moonshine Beach. Bet that’s not what you were thinking, huh?

And here’s our condo.

I’m pretty excited about going! I’ll make sure to take pictures and tell you all about it when we get back! :-)

Make sure to check back though, I have some great guest bloggers this week!!
