It’s May and school will be wrapping up soon, it’s time to start thinking about summer family vacations!
Last October, my family and I were so fortunate to be guests at the Red Lion Hotel Anaheim. The hotel perfectly combined comfort and convenience even while being very budget conscious!
We have stayed as a family at many hotels, and Red’s Pasta Kitchen was hands down one of the best amenities we have encountered! They start each day with the Roaring Start Breakfast Buffet! All week it starts, for the early risers, at 6:30 a.m. and for us who (try to) sleep in, the breakfast buffet lasts until 9:30. And they have everything! We devoured the pancakes, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon and sausage. For those who prefer to have a lighter breakfast, the Roaring Start Breakfast Buffet also has bagels, breakfasts, cereals, yogurts and of course juices and coffee! All of this is just $9.95 per person. Our whole family was able to take a short elevator ride to breakfast and everyone thought it was a delicious experience!
Red’s Pasta Kitchen is open for lunch and dinner with a very comprehensive Italian menu. It blends scrumptious food with a VERY family friendly atmosphere. The staff was helpful, prompt and so friendly. The food was served hot and it tasted amazing. I splurged and had the fettuccine alfredo, my husband had a delicious steak meal and my kids all loved the traditional spaghetti with marinara sauce. We enjoyed a few meals at Red’s during our stay, and even took the left overs back to the room and kept them in the mini-fridge for a before-bed snack. Other nights we ordered room service and it was delivered fast and just as ordered-even with special requests!
After a long (HOT) day at Disneyland, my kids loved the outdoor pool and I enjoyed the gorgeous setting. My husband splashed in the heated pool-they are open until 9 pm, as I read a book in one of the comfortable chairs alongside the pool. It was perfect! Disneyland was fun, but you want a place to come back to that gives you a calming feeling-and this atmosphere definitely does!
On Friday and Saturday nights, the staff, including the night time manager, came out to the fire pits in the pool area and made ‘smores for the guests. This was just the perfect end to a long, fun day. Everyone employed at this hotel seem genuinely happy to be there and eager to make sure we were the same!
We did get quite a bit of exercising walking around Disneyland, but we wanted to also check out the Energy Zone Fitness Center. It offered both aerobic and weight training with a variety of machines: treadmills, elliptical machines, stair steppers, stationary bicycles and a weight training circuit. It was a great stress-relieving ending to a full day. My husband and I took turns working out when our little ones went to bed at their usual early hour. It was really a excellent experience to have all of this at one hotel!
The rooms were also fantastic. Check them out in this post-they thought of everything, down to the last comfortable detail!
We would highly recommend the Red Lion Hotel Anaheim for your summer Disneyland vacation! The hotel and the room were both superb, had very affordable rates, the staff was wonderful and knew everything Disneyland related and also the hotel offered many monthly specials you will want to check out!
A BIG thank you to Pam Scott, Cindy Hooper and all of the gracious Red Lion Anaheim Staff for hosting us! We loved every second of it!
