2011 Toyota Sienna: A Dad’s Review

When Melissa told me we were going to review a van for our trip to Disney World I’m pretty sure I let out an audible groan.  Driving a van isn’t exactly my idea of a pimped out ride!  Oh boy was I wrong!  This thing is amazing!  When I’m on vacation you could say I’m laid back (lazy) so imagine my excitement when almost everything in the Toyota Sienna fit my needs perfectly.  The sliding doors opened smoothly with the touch of a button, the bluetooth synced flawlessly with my iPhone so I didn’t even have to lift a finger to make a phone call.  I could also stream my music from my iPhone to the van’s stereo.

Normally I prefer driving to Florida all by myself, but this time around I gladly gave up the reins to Melissa so I could enjoy the comforts of the back seat.  Both back seats had dvd players so Hayden and I could watch movies.  There is so much room in the Toyota Sienna that I felt like I was sitting on my couch at home.  Glare hitting the TV screens? Don’t worry Toyota’s got you covered with their built in sunshades that easily cover the side windows.

Everything about this vehicle was awesome.  We became incredibly spoiled on our trip and I can’t imagine taking a road trip with anything less.  It was a sad day when Toyota came to pick up the Sienna but I’m pretty sure that when we are in the market to purchase a new vehicle that this van is going to be at the top of my list!

Toyota Sienna Recap: Part Two

I am still dreaming of the Toyota Sienna we took on a 16 hour drive to Disney World.

Pretty much every day I am asking Heath if we can get a van. I’ve been looking at the Toyota Sienna online all the time, at different colors and all the features.

I KNOW all of the features that the Toyota Sienna offers, I was lucky enough to get to check them all out during our trip.

Here’s another picture of the pretty 2011 Toyota Sienna.

Again, the Dual Entertainment System was by far the most favorite feature? When Heath and I took turns driving one of us would usually go hang out in the back with Hayden. Not only would we be able to stretch out with all the room we were able to watch a movie also.

My husband and I both appreciated the multi-informational display. There were several options you could choose from including a back-up camera.

It also showed the time, outside temp and Distance to Empty! No more guessing games, it tells you exactly how many miles you have to go until you have to fill up with gas again.

Another thing I loved was this hidden compartment on the passenger side!

Looks like nothing right?

Plenty of space! I had my phone, camera and Nook in there. It was hidden nicely and it actually took me quite a few hours before I noticed a discreet button there!

For everyday use this would be the perfect place to stash some diapers, wipes, juice boxes….whatever you want!

Hayden was always so comfy in the Sienna! He loved sitting up so high and looking out the window!

In my last post I was saying how I wished to go grocery shopping with the Sienna! With so much room and grocery hooks I thought it would be so great! The night before they were scheduled to come pick up the Sienna I went for a quick trip to the grocery store!

I love all the room!

It was just such an amazing vehicle! I’m glad I have Heath convinced and now have to wait to see when we can get one!

Look for a post coming soon written by Heath on a Dad’s perspective of the minivan!

Would You Go On a 16 Hour Road Trip?

I would definitely go on a 16 hour road trip again if I was riding in a Toyota Sienna.

The Toyota Sienna arrived on Wednesday, March 9th in the morning.

I was absolutely giddy when it pulled into our driveway. I’m not really a “car person” but the 2011 Toyota Sienna took my breath away.

The Toyota Sienna LE seats 8 passengers. Only 3 of us so we had so much room during the drive!

We actually put the 3rd row seating down to fit all of our luggage.

During a normal road trip I am used to piling the car up with so much stuff. We fill the trunk, Hayden is surrounded by bags and I have several bags by my feet.

Driving down we had SO much room. You could have laid down in the space between the front seat and the middle seats, there was so much room. In fact, I used that area to change Hayden’s diaper several times.

The Toyota Sienna has SO many options.

One of my favorites was the XM Radio. I never listen to the radio and would only listen to my iPod. I used to hear people rave about XM Radio and I just didn’t get it. Well, now I do. Not only was I able to pair my iPhone using Bluetooth using the audio system so I could listen to my own music there were so many XM Stations that played just music I liked. I never switched the station because a song came on that wasn’t my style.

One of the other big things that came in handy for our trip down were the built in sunshades. We have sunshades our our vehicles and maybe I’m doing something wrong but we have gone through so many sunshades because they just keep falling down. I LOVE the fact that these are built in. You can pull them up and hook them at the top. It was so convenient to have and helped Hayden fall asleep more easily in the car.

I loved the grocery hooks on the back of the front seats. I was able to hang Hayden’s bags of toys and books on these grocery hooks making them more accessible to me and not cluttering up the floor of the Sienna.

When in the front seat it was great to have the mirrored sunglass holder. Not only was my husband able to have his sunglasses up there I was also able to get a perfect view of Hayden in the backseat.

My husband loved the Cruise Control and the Individual Air Conditioning Controls. No more fighting over the temperature settings!

My husband has offered to write a post soon on his take of the minivan soon! ;-)

But the best feature for us?

The Dual Entertainment System!

We brought DVDs with us and there were actually two screens in the backseat. Each screen came with a headset, so it’s great if you have 2 children in the backseat and they each want to watch a different movie. Plus the headphones come in handy so you can listen to your XM Radio! ;-)

I couldn’t believe how smooth the ride was. We were flying by and in fact the first day we drove 10 hours before we even thought about stopping!

We are on our way back home in the Toyota Sienna right now. I can’t wait to show you more photos and great features of this fabulous ride!

Driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna to Disney World!

You all might know how excited I am to be going to the Disney Social Media Moms Conference in March!
It’s actually only 51 days away {We aren’t counting or anything!}

We don’t fly, it’s just too expensive and we actually enjoy the drive down there.
We drove the 16 hour drive last February {Yes, I said 16 hours!} and it actually wasn’t too bad. Hayden had broken his foot so we had to do a lot of stops so he could walk around.

We also stay the night in Atlanta or a little pass so we are only driving 8 hours each day.

While I like my car I was a little worried about driving it down to Florida. We just did a lot of work to it and I would hate to do even more work to it if something went wrong.

So I was OVERJOYED when Toyota GENEROUSLY is going to let us test drive a 2011 Toyota Sienna to Disney World!

I am in love with Toyota’s line of vehicles. I am in love with Toyota’s commercials.

C’mon, you know what commercial I’m talking about. I actually talked about wanting a Swagger Wagon back in June!

We will be driving a 2011 LE Toyota Sienna in South Pacific Pearl.

Isn’t it beautiful?

The Toyota Sienna is perfect for those long road trips for children or even zipping around town on the weekends doing errands!

Oh, how I long to do grocery shopping with this van!

This trip is going to be amazing! Is it sad that I’m kind of bummed it’s only a 16 hour drive?

The 2011 Toyota Sienna LE that we will be driving includes Captain’s Chairs with Stowable Center, the LATCH system, Rear Window Sun Shades {Perfect for traveling!}, Multi-Information Display with Back-up Camera and the best part?

Dual-Screen Seat Mount Entertainment System!

I see lots of viewings of Toy Story 1, 2 and 3!

I am excited to be sharing our road trip with you! I am going to be posting more about this great family vehicle with pictures and video! {Do you subscribe to my You Tube yet?}

Make sure to follow me on Facebook and Twitter also! I’ll be tweeting my road trip for sure!

A HUGE thank you to Toyota!!!

And I leave you with this…..
