Nutrisystem Weekly Weigh-In

wlEmoticon-winkingsmile.png

It’s the time of week again, time for the Weekly Weigh-In for Nutrisystem!

The past 2 weeks have been a real struggle for me. I was working out and feeling good but not losing anything.

Then of course there was Easter, several dinners out with family, a BBQ and dun dun dun….the Jimmy Buffet concert with 4 hours of tailgating and then the actual concert.

So I wasn’t too surprised when I weighed in and found that I am 2 pounds up. Definitely to be expected.

So I am at a total weight loss of 21.1 pounds. I’m still down 3 sizes in jeans and I actually might have to go down another size, so that feels awesome! I know I’m losing the inches!

I just put in my Nutrisystem order for next month and I am super excited. I decided to switch things up and I’m also trying some new foods!

I love the wonderful support system I have with Nutrisystem! Everyone is so fabulous and encouraging! I love my #NSNation! Winking smile

Make sure you check in with my buddies Heather over at OurKidsMom and Heather at Living on Love and Cents! They are doing a fantastic job too!!

Surviving Holidays and Events on Nutrisystem

Easter is over but with Spring and Summer approaching there are always so many events happening. Graduation parties, Mother’s Day, BBQs and more.

Nutrisystem has 8 Diet-friendly strategies for staying on track during the holidays!

1. Have a plan. Think things through before you get to the actual holiday meals and parties. Maybe your strategy is to take tiny portions of different dishes; that’s okay. If you’re cooking, you might want to have your bottle of water with you in the kitchen, so you’re less tempted to snack. Do what you can to stay away from the appetizer table. Plan to avoid anything that’s not homemade. The point is that if you go in with a plan, you’ll be less likely to get caught off-guard.

2. Stay on track. Holidays are not the time to skip meals in an attempt to “bank” calories. That’s a strategy that can backfire miserably. Instead, eat everything on your meal plan leading up to the holiday event, and make sure you’re drinking all your water. You’ll be less likely to overindulge at the big event.

3. Set a goal. There’s something about holidays that makes people forget what they do the rest of the year. Do you already have weight loss goals set up for November, December and January? If not you can start today. Once you’ve set a short-term goal, decide on a way to reward yourself once the goal has been reached.

4. Drink smart. Face it, overindulging during holiday events—whether it’s an office party, a family gathering or a neighborhood open house—can add a lot of extra calories to your day. In addition, when you’ve had too much to drink, it tends to weaken your previous resolve and derail any strategies and plans you might have had. Besides, you don’t want to end up as that karaoke-singing family member or neighbor everyone will be talking about for the next month.

5. Trim the calories. This tip is especially useful if you happen to be the primary cook for an event. In baked items, replace the fat with an equal amount of applesauce and the sugar with a sugar substitute; substitute a quarter cup of egg substitute for every egg called for in the recipe; replace whole milk with 1% milk and sour cream with yogurt; reduce the amount of nuts called for by half. And don’t forget both veggies and salad.

6. Enlist support. Trying to maintain your Nutrisystem program can be hard at the holidays, but there’s no reason you have to go it alone. Ask for your family’s understanding or even their help, so nobody’s trying to foist “seconds” on you. Nutrisystem counselors can help you strategize, based on your individual circumstances. Or you can go to the Nutrisystem Discussion Boards, where you’ll find people who definitely understand what you’re trying to do. Discuss your concerns; share tips of your own, or join one of the many weight loss challenges. Some of them are specifically geared to the holidays. Introduce yourself well before the event, so you have that support already in place.

7. Keep moving. Instead of just sitting around after dinner, suggest a family walk, or organize a touch-football game. Most people will be grateful for the chance to move around, and it can keep you on-track with your exercise plan.

8. Embrace the spirit. This last tip may just be the most important: You can get so caught up in all the planning and hoopla that you lose the whole meaning of the holiday season—coming together with friends and loved ones. It’s the time that’s really valuable, not the food and drink.

Such great tips!

Weigh-in time!

I have been working out since joining the YMCA and I love it!

I had been doing some walking here and the elliptical there but wasn’t putting too much effort into it.

Since joining the YMCA I have started doing the AMT Machine (Whoa! I just checked out the exact machine I’m using! On Amazon it goes for $7,799! ) and I LOVE it! It’s such an amazing workout and definitely a challenge. Yet, I find myself pushing myself more on it rather if I had just been on a treadmill.

The other things that is great about it? It has a TV screen and fans! FANS! ;-)

So now it comes to how much I have lost for the week?

I am down .5 for a total weight loss of 23.1 pounds!

I am switching it up a little bit with the Nutrisystem plan for next month after talking to my doctor and the nutritionist with Nutrisystem, so more to come on that later!

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

Nutrisystem: Week 22

NSpopcorn

Week 22!

And it’s been a good week!

The weather has been so nice out so we have been spending a lot of time grilling and spending time in the backyard.

Hayden has been obsessed with the soccer ball so I have been getting a lot of exercise playing with him!

I got my new box of Nutrisystem in the mail the other day and I was excited to see some new goodies!

My favorite is the popcorn, which I featured a couple months ago! It has been SO popular so they were out of it this month but I got a ton this time! It’s so good and the perfect snack to much on!

The other goodie I am excited about is the new Nutrisystem Water Bottle.

The bottle is 32 oz. and there is a reminder on it that you just need to drink 2 of the bottles daily to get your water intake in!

So weigh in time!

How much did I lose??

ONE POUND!!!

That brings my total weight loss to 22.6 pounds!

I need to do some measurements because my latest jeans are feeling pretty loose so I’m thinking I lost some inches!

I also joined the YMCA today so I’m looking forward to getting more active!

Woo-hoo!

Nutrisystem Week 20! 5 months down!

193999_1960725176719_1200490961_32481923_4350914_o

I always start every post like “I can hardly believe it’s been xxx weeks on Nutrisystem”.

But it’s true!

And I can hardly believe it’s been 20 weeks on Nutrisystem! 5 months!

It’s definitely been 5 months of ups and downs, temptations and frustration but also 5 months of support, joy and good food!

We got back from Disney World this past Monday and now I’m fighting a bad Upper Respiratory Infection and Bronchitis.

I was pretty confident that I wasn’t going to gain anything during Disney World. Our hotel room was on the 3rd floor and I took the steps almost every time. I wish I had worn a pedometer but after doing some research it is said that on average you can walk up to 20,000 steps at Walt Disney World a day. And I believe it! My feet were so sore at the end of the day and many times I soaked them in the tub or the pool!

While I tried to eat sensibly, it didn’t always work out that way. We visited Via Napoli at Epcot and shared the cheesiest and most delicious pizza I have ever eaten!

I snacked on more soft pretzels that I care to mention. We were treated to a CANDY BAR! Oops, I wasn’t supposed to mention that!

I got to meet 3 other fabulous ladies that are doing the #NSNation program. We even got a picture of us together that I need to get up on here! Make sure to check out Barb of RuralMom.com, Erica of Guide to Military Travel and  Kelly of Kelly’s Lucky You!

When I came home one of the first things I did was weigh myself. And I was so excited when I realized that I hadn’t gained ANYTHING! Amazing!

So I got right back on program. Back to my delicious breakfasts of Veggie Omelets and lunches of Chicken Quesadillas and dinners of good ol’ Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes!

And what happened when I weighed myself today?

I was down 5.3 pounds!

5.3?! Whoa! So what is total weight loss then?!

21.6 pounds!

I am finally past that 20 pound weight loss mark which gets me a second Nutribear! ;-)

I thought I’d share a Before and After picture of 20 pounds. I have so much more to go but I’m proud of the 20 pounds and 3 jean sizes I have dropped!

Before:

After:

So I can tell a bit of a difference! I can’t wait until I have one of those really drastic After pictures! ;-)

Nutrisystem Week 18

NSfood

I can hardly believe it’s been 18 weeks on Nutrisystem. And I still have 3 more months to go which makes me so happy.

It’s always easier to lose weight in warm weather, isn’t it? Grilled chicken, grilled veggies, refreshing water, long walks….

I am so ready for summer!

Today we are headed to Disney World. We are leaving this afternoon and driving 16 hours to Orlando, Florida. Crazy, huh?

It’s so easy to just eat junk food on a road trip. It’s what we have always done in the past, stopped off at Fast Food places and that will be all we eat.

I am armed with my Nutrisystem food though. In my Tote Bag that will sit up front with me, I’m bringing: Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars, Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars, Cinamon Bun Bars, Chocolate Rainbow Delights (Think M&M’s), Carrot Cake and Blueberry Muffins.

YUM! Perfect snacks for while on the road!

I wanted to share some tips that the amazing @NutriPRMeredith shared with me for traveling on Nutrisystem.

~ Bring your meal planner with you! You can still keep track of what you are eating!

~ Sit down prior to vacation to choose restaurants to eat out at that have a variety of foods to choose from and that give you healthy options. Just be honest with your travel buddies that even though you are excited about the trip and can’t wait, you still want to stay on track with the program.

~ When dining out, remember that it’s okay to order the food cooked the way you want (i.e. salads with certain things not on the salad or on the side, steamed veggies( no oil) etc., grilled not fried etc). It’s okay to even let them know you have food restrictions and they will be sure to accommodate you. (I know Disney is good at this!!!)

~ When eating out, if the portion size is too big (protein sizes should be no more than 6 – 8 oz – about the size of your palm) immediately ask for a to- go-box and put half in the box before eating. That way you don’t overeat and have leftovers too!

~ When I go away, I try to be active – do activities where you walk around and keep busy. (This won’t be hard in Disney, we will be walking miles each day!)

~ Drink water with all your meals – with a nice slice of lemon or lime!

These are fantastic tips! And they are all totally doable!

I’m excited to meet some fellow #NSNation Bloggers on this trip. I’ve already met Kelly of Kelly’s Lucky You at Blissdom. Wish we would have gotten a picture together! I’m excited to see her again!

I’m really excited to meet Erica of Guide to Military Travel and the super cute blog Travels with Sam and also Barb of RuralMom.com!

Okay, so ready for the weekly weigh-in? I was a little bummed because I was up 1 pound.

So that brings it to a total weight loss of 16.3 pounds. When am I going to get over that 20 pound mark???

I’m hoping that I won’t come back from Disney World with a weight gain. I never have before because you are just walking SO much. Plus, I’ll be trying to keep up with an active toddler!

Wish me all luck and I will try to report in next Friday on how it’s going! I’ll have to find access to a scale!

Nutrisystem Week 16

Remember last week’s post?

It wasn’t good.

I was pretty bummed because I was up 2 pounds.

After having that happen to me I was energized again!

I had cleaned out the closets and fridge. I went grocery shopping and bought plenty of fruits and veggies. I ate all my favorite Nutrisystem meals.

Heath is hoping to lose 5 pounds in the next 2 weeks before Disney and I was hoping to be down another 10.

So when I went to weigh myself this morning I was really hoping for a good loss.

I was ECSTATIC when I saw I was down……..

3.1 pounds!

W00-hoo! So I lost the 2 pounds that I had gained plus another 1.1 pounds for a total weight loss of……

17.3 pounds!!!

YAY! So I totally think I can *maybe* lose another 7 pounds in the next 2 weeks before our trip to Disney World!

I couldn’t have done it without the support and encouragement of all of you and my Nutrisystem buddies!

Are you debating joining Nutrisystem? Maybe looking at Jenny Craig too?

Head over to the Nutrisystem page and see how Nutrisystem compares in price (Psst, Nutrisystem is way cheaper! ;-) )

Nutrisystem Week 15: With a Guest Vlog!

This has not been a good week! Not at all!

I was doing really good this week, drinking my water, watching what I ate, not really cheating “too much”.

But life happened. We went out to eat a couple times. Days got busy and I grabbed food on the go.

Now I know while out to have a lunch bar with me, some string cheese and some fruit. It will keep me fueled and not be something bad!

There’s not much to say except I am 100% committing myself back on this program!

I cleared out the pantry and fridge of anything bad. Luckily Heath wants to lose a few pounds before our trip to Disney World next month so he let me clear out any junk I had.

I then went grocery shopping and got lots of veggies, fruits and good snack foods.

What did I weigh in at?

I weighed in at 2 pounds up!

So that is a weight loss of only 14.2 pounds.

I’m SO sad!

I talked to Meredith from Nutrisystem and she gave me lots of encouragement and advice. She reminded me that this is a journey with ups AND downs!

I have still lost 3 pants sizes and 1 shirt size.

But now I’m totally committed. More water and more working out. I’m hoping to have a really positive outcome to share with you all next week!

Meanwhile, I have an exciting Vlog to share with you! My good friend Emily from over at Family and Life in Las Vegas is doing the Nutrisystem program also so we answered some questions about the program and did a video! She is such an amazing and sweet person!

Check out Emily’s video below and make sure to head over to Family and Life in Las Vegas to see my video! ;-)

Nutrisystem Week 14!

loveNS

Today is Valentine’s Day. Which means the day can be full of chocolate and candy and wine…..

But not for me!

I’m going to talk about LOVE. Specifically my love for Nutrisystem and the wonderful #NSNation!

I’m going to tell you all. This past week was rough. ROUGH.

I don’t do well under stress. I like to eat because that is comfort to me.

Somehow, SOMEWAY I lost .2 pounds.

.2 pounds brings me to a total weight loss of 16.2 pounds!

Like I said last week, I’ll take it!

I was feeling really down Friday. Really down. I wanted to give up and just say whatever.

But I love the support of my NSNation buddies. I talked to my friend Heather over at Living on Love and Cents and she said something to me that made me cry:

She told me to think about why I made this journey. WHY did I want to lose weight? To feel better? To look better? To get healthier?

She ended it with YOU CAN DO IT!

She totally had me crying at that.

It’s so true.

The reason that I started this journey was so I could get healthy. For myself but most importantly for my family. I want to be there for Heath and Hayden. I want to get healthy and lose weight so I can have another baby.

I want to look better too. I want to feel better.

So Heather and all of my friends give me this great encouragement. The NSNation is amazing. I love to go to the Nutrisystem boards and read all the inspiring stories of people losing weight.

I love Nutrisystem. I really do. It’s yummy food that is the perfect size for me. when I was really following it I was rocking it. Losing weight. More than .2 in a week.

So now the weather is finally getting nicer so I’m hoping to spend some more time exercising outside. I’m going to drink more water. I’m going to resist temptation.

I’d love to hear what people do when they are stressed out! Anything but food!

Nutrisystem Week Thirteen

Thirteen weeks down on Nutrisystem!

This week has been a tough week for me.

I got back from Blissdom and it was sort of hard to get right back in the swing of things.

Lately Hayden has also been wanting to try all of my yummy foods too!

My favorite Nutrisystem meal is the Italian Herb Flatbread Pizza. I like to add a string cheese melted on it as a dairy and some pineapple too.

Unfortunately, it seems to be a favorite of Hayden’s also!

Wednesday was Hayden’s 3rd birthday and I had a cake for him. Of course, Mama had to try a piece.

I was happy though when I weighed in. I didn’t have a loss OR a gain.

I was still at a 16 pound weight loss!

I’m still blown away that I have lost 16 pounds!

Next week I’m hoping to add a picture like Heather from Living on Love and Cents did today! She showed off her jeans from 13 weeks ago and how much room there is! I need to do that with my jeans that are 3 sizes bigger than what I’m wearing today!

She also did a great job of reminding me that I need to drink my water!!!

Check back next week when Emily from Family and Life in Las Vegas and I will be interviewing each other in a Vlog about Nutrisystem!

Make sure you check in with my buddies Heather over at OurKidsMom and Heather at Living on Love and Cents! They are doing a fantastic job too!!
