The other night my husband and I watched the trailer for The House starring Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler and we were cracking up! This is going to be such a fun date night movie – or girls night out movie to see and it’s in theaters June 30th!
After Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) lose their daughter Alex’s college fund, they become desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university. With the help of their neighbor Frank (Jason Mantzoukas), they decide to start an illegal casino in his house.
The comedy “The House” also stars Nick Kroll (“Vacation,” TV’s “Kroll Show”), Allison Tolman (TV’s “Fargo”), Michaela Watkins (TV’s “Transparent”), Ryan Simpkins (“Arcadia”), Jessie Ennis (TV’s “Veep” and “Better Call Saul”), Rob Huebel (“Horrible Bosses 2,” TV’s “Transparent”), Cedric Yarbrough (TV’s “Reno 911!”) and Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner (“The Town,” “The Hurt Locker,” “Arrival”).
So, I don’t know if I’ve ever gone as far as opening up an illegal casino in my basement for my kids but I definitely will do whatever I can for my kids. Earlier this year we went to our local mall to meet LEGO Batman and Batgirl. It was PACKED and we had to stand in a long line to meet them but my son wanted to wait so bad. Luckily they had LEGOs to play with and then they decided to play some fun games. They invited parents to volunteer to come up and win a LEGO Batman hat. Well, my son decided he wanted that hat. He begged me to go volunteer so I raised my hand and was picked along with 5 other parents. We went to the front of the store where he told us we then had to DANCE as crazy as we could and then the audience would vote who won. I channeled my inner Elaine and went crazy dancing. At the end of the 60 seconds, the audience voted and I won! Hayden won that hat and I did something I never thought I would do….all for my son!
