Recently, I had the chance to talk with Microsoft Guru Raphael Aquino-Jose, who is Hotmail’s Senior Product Manager.
One of the first questions he asked was, “What’s your inbox like”?
Are you a Happy Mess? Sorted & Ordered? Or are you Lean & Light?
I used to be a Happy Mess, which Microsoft calls a Piler.
Pilers keep almost every email and I was constantly using the search function to find an email!
Now, I would like to call myself Sorted & Ordered, which means I’m a filer.
One day, I had enough of my emails getting out of control and sat down and made folders for almost everything imaginable and started filing emails away.
Now that I do that, I feel a lot more in control of my inbox and it’s easy to find something. Plus, it’s nice looking at an almost empty inbox.
I’m definitely not Lean & Light, which means you’re a deleter. Deleters will trash most emails before even reading them and lot of important emails can get lost in the shuffle!
Luckily, you can sign up for Hotmail, where you have all of these time-saving functions to help you.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a piler, a filer or a deleter, Hotmail has functions like Sweep to File, Account Aggregation and Conversation Threading to help you out!
Head over to What’s Your Inbox Like and tell me what you are? Do you use Hotmail?
