There could be several reasons as to why people feel tired all the time. It could come down to the food you put into your body, it could be that you are not getting enough sleep during the night, or your weight might be a possible issue. All of these or even one of these issues can be a reason why you could be tired throughout the day.
In this article we will look at some reasons why you could be feeling drowsy, lacklustre, and just straight out fatigued during the day.
You may not be eating right.
While this may seem like a no brainer to some, it is probably one of the most important aspects of getting regular sleep during the night. Taking note of your diet can go a long way in figuring out if that is in fact why you happen to get fatigued during the day. Some adults might not be getting all the nutrients they need as their diet consists of mainly sugary foods and junk food, which is not good for your overall health, but will also impact your sleep.
Also try to keep a regular routine regarding your eating habits. Some even go as far as having a healthy little snack in between their meals if they are starting to feel sluggish before their main meals such as lunch and dinner. It could be something as simple as eating some fruit and some healthy muesli bars to get you through to your next meal.
Not sleeping enough.
This may be as straightforward as it comes. If you do not get quality sleep during the night for whatever reason you will no doubt be tired during the day. Now getting quality sleep for some adults is easier said than done, especially if people have young children or long work hours and getting regular sleep simply just is not possible. For others there could be other factors that are in their control when it comes to getting a good sleep at night.
The classic example, especially with the younger generation is that many tend to watch tv before bed or go on their phones and this keeps your brain active when it should be winding down. So instead of getting the right amount of sleep you are awake for longer and therefore sleep less during the night, especially if you have an early start for your work. Limiting technology before bedtime can improve your sleep at night and then in turn that will have an impact on how you feel throughout the following day.
Overthinking.
For most people this is a big one. Overthinking constantly. Whether you are thinking about your work commitments or simply thinking about your life situation in general, it can affect your fatigue during the day. Overthinking or “stress” is something that impacts many people and it can have a hugely negative impact on your body and sleep.
Taking time to relax and destress, as well as finding ways to effectively manage stress is key to having quality sleep.
Chronic Sleep conditions.
If you are finding that you are constantly feeling tired throughout the day or you have trouble sleeping during the night and this goes on for weeks, then it might be a good idea to get yourself checked out by a doctor. Sleep Apnea is a common sleep disorder that affects many people. Sleep apnea is a condition where you stop breathing during your sleep and is incredibly dangerous if left untreated. Thanks to technology advancements there is help for people who suffer from it. If you do have sleep apnea and are seeking help, then a CPAP machine, like those from CPAP Direct, could be the answer for you.
There could be numerous reasons as to why you consistently feel tired, from your diet, stress levels all the way to perhaps even having a sleeping condition. If you are experiencing problems with fatigue then it might be a good idea to get checked out by a doctor. While some of the reasons mentioned above can be fixed simply by your lifestyle choices, other problems may require a professional approach. Either way, there are different ways to go about it, you just have to find the right approach that best suits you.
