When the kids are off school for such an extended period, the summer can seem like an endless task of finding different ways of amusing them. We can make the most of our home and garden space, but there will always be times when we need to get out and have a change of scenery. Here are five great summer days out for the kids that include fun ideas like a water park or Trampoline Flight.
Water Park
Water parks are fantastic for various reasons, but the best thing about them is that we can find something to do for a vast range of ages; from toddlers to teenagers, everyone loves the water park. You can easily spend the entire day at one, so although it may seem expensive, it is worthwhile if you make the most of it. Given that it is an all-day experience and getting wet, it is vital to wear sunscreen and re-apply it regularly.
The Beach
The beach is another classic day out, and the beauty of this is that, unlike the water park, it is entirely free. Choosing which beach to visit is a crucial decision; many locations are too busy due to their popularity. You can actually check the popularity of any place on Google these days, showing the busiest times of the year and even hours of the day.
Picnic at the Park
Having a picnic at the park is a fantastic summer day out as it ticks so many boxes at one time. We have the combined pleasure of a day out playing and lunch at the same time. Since we are bringing the food with us, lunch is of no extra cost than if we stayed at home, and if we have the best picnic supplies, such as those on sale at Pro-Direct we will be as comfortable as at home.
Forest Walks
Forest walks are not simply about getting out and experiencing the fresh air and getting some exercise. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about the variety of plants and animals that live all around us. We can see a vast array of species simply by walking around; there are insects and reptiles, bears, wolves, fish, and so much more. If you plan ahead, you can find out what routes are most likely to be the habitat of interesting species.
Indoor Options
All of the above options detail great days we can spend enjoying the outdoors during the warm and sunny months of the year. But, even in summer, we cannot guarantee it will be nice weather every single day. We must have backup plans for those days where our plans are disrupted. There are many excellent indoor options; if we have younger kids, then a soft play center or a trampoline park can offer a great way to get them running around. For the entire family, a trip to the movie theatre can be an all-around winner. There are more mature options for older kids, such as indoor go-karting, or rock climbing, including bouldering.
