A few months ago, I started seeing pictures and information come out about Pixar Fest in Disneyland and I knew I wanted to try and visit this summer. When I got the invitation to come experience Pixar Fest for a nonstop 10 hours while visiting California for the #Incredibles2Event, I was SO excited! Challenge accepted and I set out to make it the BEST DAY EVER!
There’s so much to do in Disneyland and Disney California Adventure but we were on a quest to experience everything Pixar during Pixar Fest, which runs until September 3rd. Here are the 5 things you have to experience while at Pixar Fest!
Pixar Rides
Yep, you gotta experience all of the Pixar-themed rides. Sure, there’s a ton of other rides but if you truly want to immerse yourself in everything Pixar, these are the rides to check out while you’re at Disneyland and California Adventure.
- Toy Storia Mania
- Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
- Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
- Radiator Springs Racers
- Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue
- Turtle Talk with Crush
You’re also not going to want to miss the Incredicoaster which opens up on June 23rd in Disney California Adventure as part of Pixar Pier. The Incredicoaster will be an amazing ride featuring our favorite superhero family – the Incredibles!
Pixar Food
Oh my gosh, all of the Pixar food. This is something I was really looking forward to and it DID NOT disappoint. Honestly, I could do a whole post on JUST the Pixar food but I’m just going to try and hit the highlights for you!
The first place we got to visit was the Adorable Snowman where I tried the It’s Snow-Capped Lemon (Non-dairy Lemon Soft-serve dipped in White Chocolate) and the Pixar Pier Frosty Parfait (Non-dairy Lemon Soft-serve with Blue Raspberry Swirl). These were both so amazing, refreshing and oh-so Instagram worthy!
We had dinner at Alien Pizza Planet (Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port) in Tomorrowland at Disneyland. This place was OUT OF THIS WORLD! There were dishes like Cheeseburger Pizza, Green Miso Pesto Pasta and Alien Macarons!
We also got to sample some of the other treats you may find throughout the parks like the Pixar Ball and Grape Soda Cake Pops, Alien Apple, Mike Wazowski Krispie Treat and the Pixar Fest Pixar Cake!
If you’re a churro lover, you’re going to find an amazing selection of churros at Pixar Fest! I didn’t have time (or room in my stomach!) to try them but I heard they were amazing!
Pixar Characters and Photo Opps
When you’re at Pixar Fest, take the time to head over to the Pixar Pals area! Over here is where we got to have a photo opp with Buzz and Woody from Toy Story.
I’ve also heard there are appearances by Mike and Sulley from Monster’s Inc., Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl from The Incredibles, Flik and Atta from A Bug’s Life and more! Make sure to take the time to meet these characters as part of Pixar Fest!
Also, make sure to take advantage of the fun photo opps around the parks. I loved walking through Radiator Springs and getting a pic on Route 66 or a fun picture in front of Boo’s Door which is right by the Monster’s Inc. ride!
Pixar Play Parade
The Pixar Play Parade was amazing. You don’t want to miss this fun parade featuring all of your favorite Pixar movies. It’s at Disneyland every day and features some fun songs you won’t be able to get out of your head. I loved seeing all of the parade floats and characters. Check out my video below with some photos and video.
Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular
The fireworks at Disneyland for Pixar Fest were amazing. We sat right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle and had a great view as projections were made upon the castle featuring some of my favorite scenes from Pixar movies. The fireworks were….well, spectacular! This is a firework show that you won’t want to miss out on!
During Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular, you’re invited to embark on an emotional journey of friendship that starts when unlikely Pixar characters meet, set out on adventures and overcome obstacles together.
Feel your senses come to life as this story unfolds with fireworks, music and projections at iconic Disneyland locations—including Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Matterhorn Bobsleds, the water screens of the Rivers of America, the façade of “it’s a small world” and the buildings of Main Street, U.S.A.
Pixar Fest at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure goes until September 3rd and you won’t want to miss all of the fun! Don’t forget that Pixar Pier – which will feature the Incredicoaster, Jessie’s Critter Carousel, Boardwalk Games, Snacks and MORE – opens up June 23rd!
