The internet world is a place where everyday language becomes skewed, transformed into multiple meanings, and abbreviated. There is an abundance of new words and acronyms popping up every day and trending online, from the age-old ‘YOLO’ and ‘TTYL’ to newer Gen-Z-inspired slang terms like ‘no cap’ and ‘yeet.’ It can be difficult to keep up with these words and their meanings, to say the least.
One word that’s been added to the never-ending list of internet slang terms is, ‘pawg.’ This is an abbreviation that translates to ‘phat ass white girl.’ It is often used in the Twittersphere and in the adult entertainment industry. Contrary to what you might think, this term is intended to be a compliment. However, obviously, it is not really a compliment. On the contrary, it is a derogatory, sexist, and objectifying phrase.

When someone uses the term PAWG, they are reducing a woman down to the size and shape of her body rather than the beauty of her overall appearance and personality. Therefore, it is important to be considerate of others and use appropriate language when describing them.
There is a myriad of other words in the English language, or even in the ever-evolving internet slang language, that can be used in place of an inappropriate word such as PAWG. However, if you’re not sure what else you can say, keep reading below for five words you can use instead of PAWG.
Curvy
Despite what you might see some people say online, PAWG is not a compliment. It is a disrespectful and insensitive term pointed at women. Show women more respect and use another word in its place. For instance, curvy is a much better option to use instead of PAWG. Curvy is an adjective defined as, “(of a woman’s figure) shapely and voluptuous,” according to Google Dictionary. As you can tell by the definition, this word’s meaning is similar to that of PAWG. However, it is a widely accepted and more courteous way to describe a woman or a woman’s body. So, the next time you’re tempted to say PAWG, why not use curvy instead?
Gorgeous
How about instead of commenting on a woman’s body in the first place, you describe her appearance as a whole. Even if someone uses PAWG with the intention of complimenting a woman, she most likely will not take it that way. If you want to use a term that people will actually appreciate and respect, opt for something like gorgeous instead. You can even consider using synonyms of gorgeous, such as beautiful or attractive. All of these options refer to a woman’s overall beauty rather than just her body and features. The bottom line is, why say PAWG when you can say gorgeous? Gorgeous is always going to be the much better choice!
Voluptuous
If you must comment on a woman’s body in order to describe her structure and appearance, there are still plenty of other respectful and more appropriate terms you can use to replace PAWG. For example, you might describe a woman as voluptuous. The definition of voluptuous is, according to Google Dictionary, “curvaceous and sexually attractive (typically used of a woman).”
This is another word that has a very similar context to PAWG, but it’s clearly a much more complimentary term. When someone has a curvaceous figure and is attractive to you, never use PAWG. Instead, say voluptuous or any of the previously mentioned terms.
Well-Formed
If you admire a woman’s body and want to comment on it, the first step is to consider whether or not you can do so respectfully. PAWG is certainly not the phrase you should use in order to do that. If you need a different word in this situation, go with something more factual. Well-formed, for instance, is a good option. Well-formed means, “correctly or attractively proportioned or shaped.”
By saying well-formed instead of PAWG, you can admire a person’s figure without offending them or being disrespectful to women as a whole. This is especially true considering this word can be used for all genders and not just women. It is a broad and general definition that, if said with a positive and kind intention, is a significantly better word than PAWG.
No matter what the situation or context might be, there is without a doubt always going to be a better term you can use to describe a woman or her body than PAWG. This offensive language should never be used, as it can be extremely sexist, rude, and objectifying. Instead, use any of the words above in its place. If you genuinely can’t think of another word to replace the innapropriate term PAWG in the moment, then it is simply the best choice to just not say anything at all.

What a gay article lol. So if calling a PAWG reduces a woman down to just her appearance, then calling her voluptuous just reduces her down to her appearance too. WOW that woman I’ve never even talked to is voluptuous AND has a great personality (I assume, since I don’t actually know her)
How are you going to comment on a woman’s personality if you don’t know her? Same as a man. Next time you give a man a compliment on his appearance , think back and reflect on how sexist and derogatory you are.
Meanwhile, I’m going back to my PAWG wife. And yeah she has a great personality and big phat white…donkey.
Again, gay article lol
I agree with both the OP and this person. Really depends on the context and the audience. But do we now need to write an article about this person’s use of the word “gay”? Gay means happy or homosexual. I feel like im back grade school when someone tries to use the term “gay” to mean something negative. Im Gen X, so grade school was many moons ago for me as I assume it was for the person who replied to original post. Let’s leave that insensitivity in past where it belongs.
