What is BabbaBox?
It’s a monthly box sent directly to your home with everything you need to engage your kids in something meaningful-crafty projects, education and experiences. It comes with creative activities that you can do with your children, centering around a specific theme. It is targeted to ages 3-6, but I believe that older children (and even us adults!) would enjoy the projects just as much as the little guys! In every box, four major components are included:
Create: 3-4 projects that kids do with their hands. All materials are included for these projects!
Explore: Activities to engage with the world and nature.
Story Tell: Books and stories for their imagination.
Digital: Interactively learn with BabbaCo approved downloads.
We received the November box with the important theme of Gratitude. It arrived beautifully packaged and it was stuffed full! I was just as excited as my kids to get started!
Here is a video from Jessica Kim, mom and founder of BabbaCo talking in detail about what all was included in the “Gratitude” box and why it was. I really appreciate the thought that was put into each project included in the box.
Here were some of our favorite “Create” activities:
My little guy just turned three and is learning about letter sounds. He was able to practice a few that he already knew and combined it with his love of painting when he made the trivet. While he was arranging his letters we talked about what “gratitude” means and who he was grateful for. He said he was grateful for his Nana and how she always stomps in puddles with him. How cute is that?
A bunch of tiny yet bright markers were included with the really cute die cut cards. My daughter really enjoyed coloring hers and paid special attention to the placement of her stickers. She said that she was grateful for her Dad and how he always lets them help vacuum!
My favorite project was the Serving Tray. Jessica says in the video that showing your children the importance of serving others is a great way to teach them gratitude. I completely agree! We made this very fun serving tray with hands prints from the whole family and it will be used to serve small things to our friends and family when they visit. It is the perfect size for small hands to carry and it has such a sentimental meaning!
Included also in the Gratitude box was the Explore section. It came with a camera and a very cool tri-fold journal. My children took turns taking pictures of the things (and a few people!) for which they were grateful. It is surprising what is on the list for a 3 and a 5 year old! But also very sweet too: their favorite stuffed animals, the squeaky toy that their younger sister likes, our family dog and even my daughter’s hair brush. I can’t wait to get the pictures back and put into the journal. It will be a collection I keep and treasure!
The Story Tell section was the book “Giving Thanks”. It is a beautifully illustrated book about truly appreciating the earth. The story is about a father who takes his son on a walk through the woods, teaching him to be thankful for the nature that surrounds them. My children loved this book and it has been on our nightly reading rotation since we received it.
The Digital portion is a group of pre-approved downloads that your child can learn with interactively with technology. The digital age is now and so how much better would it be to have your children using it in an educational, safe way!
I am a creative mom. I have totes upon totes of art supplies. We even have a table set up specifically for the purpose of kid crafting. I think it’s important to stimulate my children’s brains in this way and allow them to express themselves artistically. That being said, I do have those days where I can’t think of one single project for them to do! A BabbaBox is the perfect thing for times like these! It saves so much time-I don’t have to plan projects and procure supplies. Life is busy! There is something really brilliant about having these already planned out and sent to your home! Here is one of the project instructions in which everything is laid out simply and in detail-so easy!
Besides saving time, it also saves you money! A monthly subscription starts at just $29.99/month. And the retail value of each box is between $40-50! You are getting an incredible deal in addition to convenience. There is also something really great about someone else doing the labor part of putting these projects and activities together and allowing you and your children the time to just focus on learning together and having fun!
The BabbaBox would make a wonderful gift for the children in your life! You would be giving them education, and an opportunity to grow and learn! Visit BabbaCo.com for additional details and information on other products. BabbaCo has a great video section on Youtube where you can watch Jessica tell you the reason behind specific themes and what they mean to her.
