The weather outside is frightful, but it sure is delightful inside! I love when it’s cold outside and I get to snuggle up inside with my loved ones. But it sure is easy to go stir-crazy when you have three kids and no where to go because of the cold. That’s when you break out all of your tricks – crafts, fun and a delicious treat!
When it’s too cold and windy to go outside, I like to bring the snow inside! Making a sensory bin with snow is so fun for toddlers – and even big kids, too! All you have to do is bring in fresh snow and give them a couple of their toys and I guarantee it will keep them busy for at least an hour!
After playing with the snow, it’s always fun to do a winter-themed craft. My kids LOVE snowmen but we haven’t gotten enough snow in years to make a good snowman! But that is why we love to do snowman crafts. This marshmallow snowman was a big hit with all of my kids.
This is a project so easy that a toddler can do it! I drew the three circles for the snowmen and then applied glue with a glue stick. They had fun sticking on marshmallows to create their snowman! Then, they dipped their fingers in paint to create snow falling around him!
During a fun-filled day of indoor winter fun, you have to have a snack break! For us, we created a fun snack with Snack Pack® pudding, making Melted Snowman!
I call this a melted snowman because we took a Vanilla Snack Pack® pudding and made a snowman’s hat to place on top – which was quite delicious, too!
To make the Snowman’s Hat, you’ll need:
- large marshmallows
- chocolate melts
- chocolate-covered cookie
- rope candy
- candy embellishments
How to make the Snowman’s Hat:
- Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
- With a toothpick, place the large marshmallow into the bowl of chocolate, making sure it’s completely covered.
- Take the marshmallow out of the chocolate and place on top of the chocolate covered cookie.
- While the chocolate is still drying on the marshmallow, place winter embellishments on hat.
- Cut a long piece of rope candy and place around the base of the hat once it’s completely dry.
- Place on top of a vanilla Snack Pack® pudding and enjoy this Melted Snowman treat!

These pudding snacks are so cute! I usually don’t make winter themed snacks. It doesn’t get that cold here. With no inspiration, it’s hard too.

I love your winter snack idea and think that it is a good one to make with my daughter in the Winter when we are cooped up. Thanks for the idea!
