I’ve long been a fan of Big Fish Games – it seems like each month they are coming out with a new game. These games aren’t just for kids too, they are for parents! There’s nothing like being able to zone out on the iPad and play a good game after the kids go to sleep. I’ve been a fan of Hidden Object games since I was introduced to Midnight Castle earlier this year so I was definitely excited to try Awakening Kingdoms, a new FREE hidden object game from Big Fish.
The game is based on the popular “Awakening” series which has over 17 Million franchise downloads. If you’ve played before, you’ll get to reunite with favorite characters and explore the Skyward Kingdom, embark on quests that require you to search through hidden object scenes and complete mini games to earn the gold needed to restore the royal castle and surrounding villages.
For years, the Skyward Kingdom was under the threat of the dark mage Dreadmyre. Once awakened from her magic induced sleep, Princess Sophia embarked on a quest to defeat Dreadmyre, rescuing the Skyward Kingdom and becoming its beloved Queen. Even though Dreadmyre was defeated, his evil still lingers in the Skyward Kingdom and the war against him has left much of the once beautiful land in ruins.
In Awakening Kingdoms, you are chosen by Queen Sophia as her royal steward to restore her kingdom back to its former glory through fun mini-games and beautiful hidden object scenes. There’s a lot to do – we need to restore Queen Sophia’s castle and rebuild the towns destroyed in the war against Dreadmyre.
I mentioned before that I’ve been hooked on Hidden Object games because I think it’s a great way to keep your brain challenged – running after toddlers most days isn’t the most challenging, you know?
As you play, you can earn specialty items, valuable Bolgins, stars, and more for gathering Collectibles! A fun challenge is to see if you can collect all items in the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum sets. Complete quests and solve puzzles to earn rewards along the way. Each relic will get you closer to building the reconstructing the castle and more! If you play daily, you can earn special rewards!
It’s hard to get bored playing Awakening Kingdoms, as new locations, characters and quests are being added each month, which offers a never-ending adventure in a much loved kingdom. Plus, there are four different modes of Awakening Kingdoms – play in classic Hidden Object Mode, or select from Picture Mode, Riddle Mode, and Silhouette mode.
Awakening Kingdoms is NOT a replacement for the popular PC adventure versions of this series. It’s a unique standalone experience that can be played and shared with your friends, making it a fun social experience as well. I love being able to play with my friends too!
Did I mention that Awakening Kingdoms is FREE?? There are some in-app purchases so you can further your game play, but I love that it’s a free app for the iPad.
