What comes to mind when you think of baby food? Mushy and bland perhaps? Not one of my three children actually liked jar baby food. And I can’t say that I blame them! And what about the additives, preservatives and flavorings? No thank you! We usually gave our two oldest whatever we were eating when they were young- as long as it was okay for their little tummies and it was cut into tiny pieces. Now we are doing the same with our third! But what if we are eating something not baby-friendly?
Baby Gourmet is a new company that is changing the baby food market! They offer healthy, organic baby food in combinations that I would actually like to have for dinner! Listen to some of their combinations: Tropical Banana Bliss, Apple Crisp, Vanilla Banana Berry Risotto (yes, I said RISOTTO!), Roasted Squash and Fruit Medley, Juicy Pear and Garden Greens just to name a few!
Who is the woman behind Baby Gourmet?
From the website: Founder Jennifer Broe wanted to feed her babies food that was healthy and tasty, but was disappointed by grocery store options. With a little ingenuity, she started making her own—whipping up baby-friendly batches of tested and much-loved family recipes. The results were so yummy, she enlisted the help of her sister, Jill Vos, and Baby Gourmet was born.
Baby Gourmet food is also:

My little girl devoured the Vanilla Banana Berry Risotto. Baby Gourmet also sent us Orchard Apple, Carrot and Prune and Baby’s Sweet Potato Pie and she actually hummed a happy song when she was eating! Of course, we had a family taste testing of each and they are delicious! The list of ingredients are ACTUALLY ingredients-like what you would find in your own kitchen. It’s almost like you spent the day making your own baby food-but you didn’t have to! I will definitely be adding Baby Gourmet to my shopping list!

One neat fact I read was that…they actually taste every single batch themselves. If they don’t absolutely love it, they pour it out and start from scratch. Awesome!

we use BG ALL the time, my little guy can’t get enough of it. He is just learning to feed the pouch for himself, which is even more fun!
BG is very committed to quality, I just noticed on their website that “We actually taste every single batch ourselves. If we don’t absolutely love it, we pour it out and start from scratch.” I am sure they don’t have to do that often, but a good policy!
One thing I learned from their site, is that they try every batch of food made. If it’s not just right, they start over!
BG is available is Canada at Safeway and Superstore!
It’s available in Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3.

I would try the Chicken Tortilla Chili
I like that both my one year old and three year old like them on the go.
Baby gourmet is also great to take on long trips with you and for your older kids or even adults to enjoy on th car ride and great to take camping.
My son has devoured every single pouch of this that we have given him!! He loves them, and I love that they are healthy. They are also larger in size than many of their competitors, which is good for my little guy! My 3-year-old loves them too!
Got a sample of Baby Gourmet at a baby expo and my son LOVED it. He has enjoyed every flavour we’ve tried- I think a girlfriend and I bought out Walmart’s entire stock one day when it was on sale!! Now that #2 is making his/her arrival soon, I will defintely need to start stocking up again.
Here’s a bummer of a fact… there isn’t a store nearby me that carries it! I guess I’ll have to travel a bit to get my hands on some. 🙂
