Whenever someone asks me what game system they should get for their family, I’m always quick to tell them Nintendo. It’s truly a gaming system for the whole family. Growing up, I remember being so excited to go to my cousin’s house to play Super Mario 64 and GoldenEye 007 on his Nintendo 64. It was such a fun bonding experience for us and I’ve been enjoying the same with my own kids. We’ve been having family game nights with our son first on the Wii U and now the Nintendo Switch. Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch
This has been such a fun game for our whole family! You’ll get to explore huge 3D kingdoms filled with secrets and surprises, including costumes for Mario and different ways to interact with the diverse environments. You’ll also meet Cappy, Mario’s hat who will give you some new moves. Plus, you can play with others when one person plays Mario and the other is Cappy!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch
I’ve always loved playing Mario Kart and this was the game that came out onto the Switch that immediately made us go out and get more controllers so we could all play together. You can play with up to 4 players and all of the courses to choose from are so fun. My 4 year old twins love playing this!
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Nintendo Switch
This game was THE reason my husband bought the Nintendo Switch. It won game of the year at The Game Awards last year and was well worth it – it’s such a visually stunning game. My husband loved playing this game and my son loved watching him play it!
Captain Toad Treasurer Tracker for the Nintendo Switch

Fortnite for the Nintendo Switch
Fortnite is HUGE as you know and the game is actually FREE on the Nintendo Switch! You’ll want to make sure to download this for sure.
My son received a Nintendo 2DS XL this year from Nintendo and it’s rarely left his side since (usually only when his sister steals it from him!). This is such a fun portable game system for both kids and adults. What I love is there are SO many games to choose from because you can play all Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS and most Nintendo DS games in 2D on this system!
Nintendo NES Classic Edition
This was all the rage last Christmas and was hard to find! It’s in stock on Amazon and other retailers so grab it while you can! This is going under our tree this year!
High on my son’s list this year is also Monopoly Gamer, a Mario themed Monopoly! Coins replace money and there’s different ways to power up and earn points. I love the different Nintendo merchandising that is out there!
Nintendo Super Mario Bros Shirt
My husband and son love wearing Nintendo shirts and I’m in love with this Mario pixel shirt – it’s definitely going under the tree this year!
These Mario coasters are laser cut and would make such a fun stocking stuffer for the Nintendo fan in your life – or you. It’s okay to just grab them for you because I think I am!
