A a blogger and social media manager, a lot of my life is online. I’m always interested in the latest technology and I want my kids to know it too. My son is currently in Kindergarten and he is definitely interested in what I do as a blogger. I know that at school they already have time where they are able to play educational games on the iPad and read on a Nook in the library. He’s always wanting me to search things like Skylanders and Disney Infinity so I know the day will come soon where he will want to use a search engine for himself.
But as much as I want my son to know the latest technology, I also want him to be safe! That’s why we are teaching internet safety to him at this early age and why I am so happy to hear about Bing in the Classroom.
Bing in the Classroom removes ads and blocks searches from being used for personalized advertising for all Bing searches done through the school’s network, making Bing the only major search engine to provide a search offering tailored specifically for the classroom.
I think this is such a fantastic imitative and something that every school should be using! I know that if I can easily get distracted by ads while searching on the internet, children most definitely are! One of the most exciting things about the Bing in the Classroom program is that you can earn FREE Surface tablets for your child’s school just by doing your online searches with the Bing search engine!
How to Earn Free Surface Tablets with the Bing Rewards Program
To begin supporting schools with Bing rewards, simply visit the campaign landing page and select “Find your school” map in the lower right corner of the page.
Next, enter your school’s zip code and select the name of your school via the dropdown menu and select “Find”.
From here, select the “Support Your School” section and click on the “Try it now, FREE!” section. You’ll be prompted to create a Microsoft account, or sign in with your Facebook account. All you have to do is stay signed in as you search with Bing to earn credits.
I’ve made the switch to using the Bing Rewards program to earn FREE Surface tablets for my son’s school….won’t you join me?
Disclosure: Thank you to Bing for sponsoring today’s discussion! I’m proud to support #adfreesearch in schools.

I think this is so classy of bing, I realize ads pay these search engines, but ads shouldn’t be everywhere especially for young school children.
