Just a few weeks ago, I talked about how Hayden is a picky eater and I get concerned that he is not getting all of the nutrition that he needs. Lately I’ve been calling him my bear because some days he will eat so much it looks like his little belly will burst and then the next few days he eats almost nothing. It’s like he is storing up all that food for the week.
When he’s not eating a lot, he is only wanting to snack on fruit and yogurt so I know he is not getting the vitamins and minerals that he needs.
Luckily, Boost Kid Essentials comes in handy for those days when he’s not eating too much. He always thinks that he is drinking a yummy chocolate or vanilla shake!
On the Boost Kid Essentials Facebook page, they have a great campaign where they will be featuring different families sharing their stories throughout the next month and how the drinks have helped their picky eaters get the nutrition that they need!
This week, I want you to meet The Hawkins Family. I really enjoyed watching their videos and I think their story will help reach others. The Hawkins Family have a son named Steven who has autism. Boost Kid Essentials helps Steven get all of the nutrition he needs!
I wanted to share some of my tips that have worked for our family in getting Hayden to eat new food!
– Get your child involved with grocery shopping! Let them pick out fruits and veggies themselves, put them in a bag and then help prepare the food at home!
– Make sure that Mom and Dad get excited about food too! We always make sure to show Hayden how much we love eating our fruits and veggies (and meat since Hayden is not a big fan!)
– Be sneaky. Hayden loves mac and cheese so I try to chop veggies up finely and then mix them in with the noodles and cheese. He never knows!
– Make meal time fun! Use fun divided plates or fill up a muffin tray of different items! I have seen some great plates on Pinterest!
I would LOVE to hear your best tips on what you do with your picky eater! Let me know over on my Facebook wall and make sure to tag Boost Kid Essentials so they see it also!
Disclosure: I received compensation as part of a campaign for Boost Kid Essentials. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
[…] I have really enjoyed the three families that they have showcased. Each family has a different reason for using Boost Kid Essentials – but all three are getting their children the nutrition they need with it! I think that I related the most to the Brunelle Family, who also has a picky 4 year old like me! Make sure to check out my post with tips that are working for my picky eater! […]
