Living in Saint Louis, we are only about 4.5 hours away from Branson, Missouri. This fun, family friendly destination is someplace we like to visit a few times a year.
One of our favorite places to visit in Branson is Silver Dollar City, a theme park that is truly full of wholesome family fun. Over 100 craftsmen are on park demonstrating glass blowing, blacksmithing, pottery, candy making, candle making, and many other disciplines. Packed with over 30 rides and attractions {We love Wildfire!} , 60 unique shops and restaurants, and 40 dazzling shows a day, Silver Dollar City truly appeals to all ages.
One of the things on my Bucket List is to visit Silver Dollar City during the Holiday Season for their Old Time Christmas Festival. The idea of being in an 1880’s setting all decked out in Christmas decorations seems magical to me! Now, with the news that the light display at Silver Dollar City has been named in the Top 10 Light Displays for Yahoo! Travel, MSN and MainStreet.com, makes me want to go even more!
Silver Dollar City was described by The Travel Channel as “the most illuminated amusement park on earth,” and by AOL Travel as “a dazzling holiday wonderland.”
In addition to the lights and light shows, the festival features the Broadway-style production A Dickens’ Christmas Carol, the interactive kids’ show Frosty, a musical Living Nativity, and holiday foods.

Does it cost anything to get inside and see the light show?
Sippy Cup Mom says
It does cost, but right now they have a special where it’s $30 for a one day ticket to the park!
