My friend Beth is a super good cook and one of the best bakers that I know. Whenever she makes pot roast she knows to call me and Hayden over (Pot Roast is forbidden in our household by someone). When I was pregnant she would offer to make me whatever I wanted (Puppy chow? Yes please!) and got me hooked on frosted animal crackers.
So when she offered to make Hayden’s 2nd birthday cake I jumped at the chance. We met over beer and nachos to discuss. I told her we were doing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and showed her some pictures of cakes I liked. I was met with a blank stare and “What’s a toddles?” when I showed her a Toodles shaped cake.
She said she would brainstorm and get back to me. She called me a few times before the party making sure she had the filling Hayden liked (strawberries and white cake!) and to show me pictures. She had decided to go with classic Mickey.

Beth hosted her niece’s birthday party at her house last weekend and decided to make 2 cakes! Her 3 year old niece is a HUGE Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan so of course she made her a Minnie Mouse Cake!
Hey your cake is better than anything I could do. Seriously.
I am always so impressed with cake decorators.
I'm a new follower of friendly Friday follow, please follow me back.
Thanks, Mr. Monkey

Some day I would love to learn how to work with fondant to decorate cakes…and get a little lesson in nice handwriting, which I do NOT have, especially on cakes!
i love eating and cooking but get frustrated with the results. what i love about my kids is even though it may not be presentable if its good, its GOOOOD and they say it over and over again.
you really got me wanting to make choc covered ricekrispie cakes 😉

Too too cute! I am the worst baker in the world. I can cook like no ones business, but the idea of measuring things exactly bothers me, so I stink at baking. I've been wanting to take a cake decorating class though. Just for fun.
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier!
I would eat all of that included but not limited to those rice krispie treats and pot roast. Delicious.
Perhaps it's time for breakfast.
Great looking cakes – she should open a business!
You know you can come over here for lessons too. After doing it for almost 8 years, I'm no slouch. But don't worry…my first cake looked something like yours too. We all start somewhere. Her cake looks awesome! I would have had a hard time with that one!
I love the pictures! I wish I could do something like that!
Such a good job! My husband is the cake baker and decorator in this house! In fact, he has 2 cakes for our friends' little boy today!
I'll check the Dwink colors very soon! Thanks!
Amy, of course! I totally forgot! You're the cake master! I need to come over sometime and have you teach me some tricks. No way did your first cake look like mine! It's terrible! 😉
my son would totally dig the mickey cake. she did such a great job!
no offense, dear, but i couldnt make out the mickey ears 🙁
wow…she is super talented!!! i am sure your cake TASTES GOOD though!
Your cake looks awesome. Seriously 😉 You're gonna make my bday one, right? 🙂
All of the cakes look great. I did a Mickey Mouse theme for Anthony's 1st b-day in March and my cake did not come out as good as that!!
