I received an amazing package a little while ago. Can you guess what was inside of these shiny festive bags?
Wine from the California Wine Club! This was actually our second monthly wine delivery. You can read about how much we loved our first shipment here.
My husband and I love wine, but we don’t know that much about it. That is what is so wonderful about the California Wine Club! Bruce and Pam Boring, the owners, have traveled California’s wine country since 1990. They choose limited production wines from small, family owned wineries.
This month we received two delicious bottles from Daniel Gehrs. The first was a 2011 Chenin Blanc from White Hills Vineyard in Santa Barbara County. And the second a 2009 Merlot from the Central Coast.
The Chenin Blanc was crisp and fresh tasting. It is described as having “Aromas of plums, wild flowers and clover honey lead to a fruity palate of ripe Barlett pear and melon flavors”. We definitely had sweeter undertones of fruit and tasted delicious with the halibut dinner.
The Merlot was one of the best I had ever tasted. The California Wine Club website describes it: “Dustiness, tanned leather and earthiness add complexity to the lush signature black cherry fruit. Tannins are smooth, lending backbone and a long finish.” In our opinion it was amazing!
The California Wine Club would be the perfect gift for this holiday season; for a loved one or yourself! Here are some of the benefits you would receive as a member:
- Delivery straight to your door
- No more standing in the wine aisle guessing what wine to purchase!
- You can choose monthly, every other month or quarterly.
- You don’t pay a middle man-the best wine at the best price!
Visit the California Wine Club Benefits page to read about the four different Wine Clubs you can choose from. Ground Shipping Deadline for Christmas delivery is December 12th. Any orders placed after Dec 12 incur expedited air charges for Christmas deliveries.
This review was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own. I received a 2 month Membership to the California Wine Club for the purpose of this review.
