Times are a-changing, but I think it’s a good thing!
Microsoft has announced that Windows 8 is now available to download for a consumer preview! I was able to check out a preview of it while at Blissdom last week and I was blown away! This isn’t the Windows that you have been used to – it’s more suited for users of today. It’s bright and colorful, sleek and user friendly!
Windows 8 has been completely reimagined. You’ll be able to move between Windows 8 PC’s securely and easily. Windows 8 will work on a wide range of devices – everything from touch-enabled tablets, to laptops, to desktops and all-in-ones.
Here’s a few things you’ll need to know about the Windows 8 Consumer Preview!
– It’s just a preview! It’s a work in progress so things will change before the final version will be released. There’s also the chance for bugs since it’s still being worked on. If you’re interested in previewing it, your feedback will be a great help to Microsoft!
– Be comfortable with new technology. There won’t be any “official support” for Windows 8 until it’s released.
– You’ll need a newer PC to make sure that it works. Check out the system requirements for the Windows 8 preview.
When I checked out the new Windows 8, I was excited to see how you could customize it completely to your needs. It’s a lot like a Windows Phone, with the live tiles. Don’t worry though, if you miss your old desktop look you will be able to switch back.
