I’m pretty obsessed with Savers and have been for over a year. If you don’t have one near you, Savers is a thrift store but it’s not like any other thrift store I’ve been in. It’s bright, it’s clean and the quality of clothing and other items is fantastic. With more than 100,000 items on its sales floor at any given time, and carrying everything from clothing and accessories, to housewares and electronics, Savers is no ordinary thrift store. You’ll find a fresh stock of value-priced goods, including authentic vintage finds and name brand fashions, with up to 10,000 new items placed on the floor each day. Want to know a secret? Pretty much my entire wardrobe plus my kid’s is from Savers! I’m in there almost several times a week because of how often new stuff is put out!
Fall is a great time to clean out the closets for the whole family. As the weather changes and you go to pull out clothing for the fall and winter seasons, you may come across clothing that either don’t fit or you just weren’t sure why you bought it in the first place {been there, done that}. I’ve spent the last few weeks going through closets and drawers for all 5 of us and tossing what I don’t want into bags to donate at Savers. I’m lucky to have a Saver’s pretty close to me but if you don’t and you’re in St. Louis, you’ll be glad to hear that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri has partnered with Savers thrift stores to open new six Donation Drop Spots in the greater St. Louis area that provide convenient locations for community members to donate their used goods.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri has partnered with Savers thrift stores to open new six Donation Drop Spots in the greater St. Louis area that provide convenient locations for community members to donate their used goods. Savers pays Big Brothers Big Sisters when community members donate their goods to Big Brothers Big Sisters at the Donation Drop Spots, whether the items make it to the sales floor or not.
The new Donation Drop Spots are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and are located at:
o 1042 S Kirkwood Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122
o 8800 Manchester Road, Brentwood, MO 63144
o S Kingshighway Blvd & Chippewa, St. Louis, MO 63116
o 48 Plaza 94 St. Peters, MO 63376
o 3900 Vogel Road, Arnold, MO 63010
o 2030 Dorsett Village, Maryland Heights, MO 63043
While I do have a Saver’s close to me, I decided to visit one of the new drop off locations. When I arrived at the Kirkwood location, you couldn’t miss it as there were several signs, a purple drop-off container for after hours and then a larger POD where someone took your items during the day.
I was able to drop off my two bags of clothing and receive a tax receipt in just minutes. I love that I’m able to clear out what I’m not using in my house while helping non-profits. It’s a win-win for us both!
Now that it’s fall, are you cleaning out your closets? Will you be donating them to a local non-profit?
Disclosure: I received compensation for this post but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I need to clean out my closets! It’s easier to do when you know that your old clothes are going for a worthy cause.

I donate often. We just have too much stuff and kids grow like weeds. I’m glad there’s a great place to drop off gently used items in your area!

This is really cool. I guess right now is a good time to do some Fall cleaning and organizing then!

I need to get to cleaning. I know I’ve got a lot of stuff that is doing me no good, but could make a difference in someone else’s life. Thanks for the reminder.

Whenever we clean out our closets, we always donate to a local organization in my city to help the homeless. It’s a nice feeling to give to others!

I donated a lot of my clothes this year to charity, and I think it is such a good idea to help those in need of items to help the charity keep up its good work!

I think I’ll be cleaning the closets out this weekend! We are still wearing summer clothing around here but my boys have outgrown their clothes so I just can’t wait any longer. We always donate too- I love knowing that someone else will get some use out it!

I donate often, its the only way to combat the build up of clutter! In fact I have a closet with a continuous pile of donations that I take by Savers every now and then. It’s good to shop thrift stores, and its good to donate items instead. of throwing them away
