I am SO glad that Spring is here! We have thrown open the windows and I’m on a mission now to get our house ready for Spring and Summer! You know what that means – it’s time for “Spring Cleaning” – deep clean the house, order replacement rugs and just refresh everything!
After the long winter with our house shut up tight, it felt good to get some cleaning done. I couldn’t wait to clean our couches. We actually haven’t gotten them “deep cleaned” before and I’m sure they badly needed it. After all, we have a toddler who enjoys the quality nutrition while watching his/her favorite show, a dog and a cat! Okay, and 2 adults!
We got out our Rug Doctor Mighty Pro with the Hand Tool to clean both our couch and loveseat.

Cleaning our couches were really easy with the Rug Doctor Mighty Pro! We used the Upholstery Cleaner and you should make sure to use the Anti-Foam with it to prevent overflow of suds.

The machine was pretty loud so I wasn’t able to make a video like I wanted to. My husband was having so much fun though and I had to ask him to please let me have a turn!
After cleaning, the fabric is wet for awhile so we made sure we cleaned on a day that our toddler was at Grandma’s house so he was tempted to get on the couch. We had to make sure to keep our pets away too. The cleaning solutions are water-based and non-toxic of course but it’s always best to keep them away until the fabric or carpets are completely dry.
Okay, I’m going to go ahead and show you how dirty my couches were. I have to admit that this is one of the best things about the Rug Doctor. You actually get to see the results of how clean you got it!
Yuck, right? I’m definitely going to be making sure I’m cleaning my couches a lot more often – that goes for the carpets too!

We have leather couches now, but before that we had micro-fiber for a few years. I’m embarrassed to say that I never “cleaned” them. I would vacuum them but never used a carpet cleaner thing on them! :/ Whoops!
