As soon as we found out that we were having my twins, my husband and I immediately agreed that we wanted to look into cloth diapering. While reading up and figuring out how many diapers we would use, I saw that with twins we would spend over $3,000 in disposable diapers those first few years until they were potty trained. After that, it was a no brainer! We are lucky enough to have a Cotton Babies in our city that sells a great selection of cloth diapers including the Flip™ Hybrid Diaper System from the makers of bumGenius.
When we stocked up on cloth diapers, we exclusively bought Flip Diapers – we have over 40 of the diapers and over 120 of the stay-dry inserts. I can’t imagine using anything else – we love them that much! They are perfect for a cloth diaper newbie like myself and best of all they are Daddy and Grandma approved!
Why We Flip for Flip Diapers!
– The Flip Diapers are available in a variety of colors and are in one size only! That means that the flip covers can fit a child from 8 pounds all the way up to 35 pounds!
– The Flip Diapers are available in both snaps or hook & loop closures and they stretch to fit so you have a custom fit. After all, all babies are different! We had originally only bought the snap diaper covers so I was excited to try out the hook & loop ones. These are even faster to put on than the snaps ones and I loved them!
– Choose between three different insert types: stay-dry, organic or disposable! Unlike other cloth diapers that are AIO {all-in-one} or pocket diapers {where you stuff an insert in to them} these are covers that you place an insert into. Once you go to change your child’s diaper, simply take the insert out and put in a new one! We use the stay-dry inserts with my twins and have yet to have a leak. I love the inserts because one inserts can be adjusted to “small, medium or large”. My girls are 16 pounds and are still on the small setting. Before you put the new insert in, you can wipe the cover with a wipe and reuse it. We can usually use a cover 3 times before I grab a new one.
– Cloth diapering on the go is easy! I always thought that we would do disposables when we were out and about but Flip Diapers offers disposable inserts that are dye and fragrance free. They are thin but absorbent and fit great in my diaper bag.

We absolutely love our Flip Diapers! If you’ve been thinking of cloth diapering, I highly recommend trying these out! Read more about the Flip Hybrid Diaper System online at Cotton Babies. Questions about the Flip Diapers or cloth diapering twins? Let me know!
Have you ever used Flip Diapers?
Disclosure: Thank you to Flip Diapers™ and MomSelect for the opportunity to review Flip Diapers and talk about my love of them!
You are such an inspiration…if I heard I was having twins I think that would be the reasoning I wouldn’t use cloth diapering. :/ Glad it was smooth sailing for you!
Nice job! We are out of diapers here! =(
These diapers sound great! I want to use more environmentally friendly diapers like this for my next baby.
PS – How exciting that you have twins. I am trying to get pregnant and would be over the moon for twins. I’ll still be super excited with a single healthy baby. 🙂
These are COOL! I wanted to cloth diaper my twins, but when they were little we were in an apartment w/out our own laundry and decided it would just be TOO much with everything else. But these are cool. Almost makes me want another baby just to try them out 😉 (almost).
OMG I feel like I know nothing about cloth diapers. They have changed so much since my kids were young.
VERY Cool!! Why didn’t they have these when mine were little!!
I love cloth diapers and wish I would have stuck with them more. 🙁 These look pretty neat–and the babies are so cute!
Wow! Those actually look super easy to use! Your twins are adorable!!
Too cute!!! Twins, goodness, they’ll keep you busy.
I have Irish Triplets and for a short time had 3 in diapers at the same time! I used Bum Genius 2.0 and loved them!!
I cloth diapered Kinsley and absolutely loved it! I wish I would have done it with my twins but they didn’t have the modern cloth then like they do now. I have tried the Flip and they were one of our favorites.
Wish these had been around 40 years ago. Just had regular cloth diapers that used safety pins to put on. This is SO much easier.
Flip diapers are ones I’ve actually never tried. Love your review. They look really easy to use and especially great for having multiples or multiple youngins in diapers at the same time.
How adorable! I wish I had been brave enough to cloth diaper!
Your girls are cuties.
I haven’t tried the FLIPS with disposable inserts yet. They are on my list, though:)
Wow, those would make me try cloth diapers if I had any more kids, which I am not planning to. Thanks for sharing, had not heard of this at all. Wonder if my sister would be of interest to these with her baby girl though!
I love flip diapers, they work great for overnights.
What did you do until your newborns were up to 8 pounds or were you able to use the Flips right from birth?
The girls were born at 5 pounds and I had trouble with them fitting them but I think you could do it – it would just be a little bulky.
