My family recently got the opportunity to stay at the CoCo Key Hotel & Water Park in Orlando, on International Drive (which, as you may know, is a very popular and fun area of Orlando to visit and vacation). After dropping off the twins with both sets of grandparents in blustery Indiana, the three of us (Me, Husband Keith and son Isaac) headed toward the sunny skies of sweet, sweet Orlando.
Our first impression was that we drove past the hotel. Oops. From the photos online, it didn’t seem like there could be a cool tropical hotel smack-dab amongst all these buildings, but yes, there it is! We drove in, went to the front desk and were greeted by an extremely friendly young lady who set us up with our room keys and welcomed us to the hotel. The lobby is a welcoming place with things to do for kids and adults of all ages. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and I cannot begin to convey how absolutely friendly and helpful ALL the staff were to us. Very gracious hospitality!
There is a business center (out in the open so kids can be monitored), a corner TV station, a nice open layout lounge area and a kids play area called Club Key!
Our room, which was actually a suite with 2 queen beds, was just as was pictured. It has clean, updated décor and extremely comfortable Serta Perfect Sleeper beds. Truthfully, it was at least 10 times more comfortable than my bed at home! It was clean, comfortable, and spacious. There was a mini fridge, digital safe, flat screen TB, desk, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer, full ironing board and free Wi-Fi. Regretfully, I did not take a picture of the bathroom so the third image is a stock photo. I did take the photo of our beds and the couch as part of our suite. Ignore the bed bumps, we had already taken a nap in it! LOL!
I just loved this sign! It felt like vacation! Isaac was holding up a bowling pin keyring he got from a local bowling alley for his first time bowling! So cute.
Because we were here during off-season, the water park was closed the days we were there. Isaac was disappointed but the weather was just not warm enough. We did see people swimming in the pool, but our thin Texas blood just didn’t allow for swimming in 70 degree weather! Too cold! Despite is being closed, we were able to walk around and look at everything and it looks AMAZING! The photos I took were not as true-to-life as the stock photos, so I will share these instead. There is a LARGE canopy-covered water park area (the only one in Orlando!) so kids who can play without the harmful rays of the Florida sun. VERY nice!
There is also a HUGE (6500 sq. ft.) arcade with a mini bowling alley and cool games!
We ate dinner at TradeWinds restaurant next to the arcade and it served affordable, family-friendly meals. There is also a food court featuring Pizza Hut Express and Callaloo Grill, as well as the Wet Rooster Tiki Bar for Mom and Dad to grab some adult beverages.
You may even run into CoCo (the namesake of the hotel and water park) himself!
Whether or not your stay is part of a larger visit to Orlando (2 miles to Universal Orlando Resort, 4 miles to SeaWorld, and 10 miles to Walt Disney World) or a one-stop family vacation, I think CoCo Key Hotel and Water Park can fit just about any family’s idea of a fun getaway!
Make sure to check them out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
Disclosure: I was provided free accommodations at CoCo Key Hotel & Water Park Orlando. All thoughts and opinions are my own, as always.
My family and I were just at the CoCo Key Water Park here in MA, but we didn’t stay at the hotel. From your pictures, the water park looks about the same!
I have been in Orlando but never to the CoCo Key Water Park. Sounds like a really fun place to take my Grandson for a great vacation.
I love how brightly colored it is! Looks like a lot of fun!
Love their decor and pops of color everywhere, and that water park… AWESOME! Wish we were closer to visit!
Wowzers what a nice getaway! Makes me miss being in Tampa.. Orlando and all of the fun on International is not too far away.
Um, I want to go to there! This place looks amazing. I know my family would love this, will have to check this out one vacation season.
The hotel itself looks pretty amazing, but the Water Park just makes it over the top! What a fun place to stay and play!
What a great place! My son would go nuts there, lol. And I’m sure I would enjoy the visit also.
Look at those water slides! My girls would never want to leave! The size of the park is very impressive too!

Looks like so much fun. That’s pretty cool they have a covered water park. I’m guessing that’s a big draw during peak season
That place looks awesome! I love how colorful it is, and that multi-sign is so great.
Wow – it really is like an inclusive water resort! I am still shocked at how much they have to offer!
We almost went there our last visit to Orlando, but it stormed the day we wanted to go! It looks like a great place to spend a day.
Now you’ll have to go back when the water park is in open season and check that part out. It’s a beautiful location overall though!
Wow, that water park looks amazing! We have something similar nearby, and I love all that it offers. You could literally stay for days and never get bored.
I can’t imagine the torture for your son to be at a place with a water park and not be able to get in the water. We are headed to Orland for the summer and I can’t wait. I hear off season is the best time to go. I’ve been during peak season and it sucks!
We are heading to Orlando this summer, this would certainly be a place the kids would enjoy going to. I wonder if I’ll be able to put this on our schedule. Thanks for sharing.
We have one local but I’ve never been there. Now you’ve peaked my interest.
I would love to take the kids this summer or spring maybe. We are only a few of hours away from Orlando but never make it that way .
This looks like such a fun place to visit. My boys would love the waterpark.
CoCo Key Hotel & Water Park looks awesome! I love the rooms and the water park, of course!
This definitely looks like a place the boys would enjoy. With all of this snow I am dreaming of warmer places.
Wow, this place looks absolutely beautiful and warm. I live in the Northeast section of the US and it is snowing while we are already sitting on 8 inches of snow.
That place looks like so much fun! I want to go!
The rooms look spacious, comfortable and clean. Something that is important during a hotel stay. But best of all the waterpark looks like F-U-N!!
Wow, looks like such a fun place for a family vacation! I will have to remember this one!
What fun! I love this as a place to go away with the kids, it’s too far away from me but would make a great Summer escape for us NH residents.
This looks like a fun place to stay. I had free tickets to the water area last summer but we never made it before they expired 🙁 maybe this year we’ll get away for a day or two and try them out. Looks fun!
