My husband and I have been married almost ten years now and our oldest just turned six. Until this summer we could count the after-children “date nights” we have had together on one hand. Then we started hiring a babysitter every other week and soon were dating again! One thing that I always struggle with is what to leave them for dinner. It has to be easy, kid-friendly and I would love it to be nutritious too.
I’m so happy to have found Kidfresh Frozen Meals! They are 100% natural, no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors. They even hide extra vegetables by pureeing and adding them to sauces! Because they use such quality ingredients, the meals are a great source of protein, vitamins and fiber!
They come in six different flavors: Easy Cheesy Ravioli, Rainbow Rice & Chicken, Totally Twisted Pasta & Meatballs, Spaghetti Loops Bolognese, Muy Cheesy Quesadillas and Wagon Wheels Mac & Cheese.
Our babysitter is a local college student, so she went home to visit family and we had to cancel our date night this week. But my husband, being the sweet man that he is, gave me the afternoon off to go to lunch with a good friend and he made lunch for the kids, Kidfresh-style!
The day before we went to Safeway to stock up on Kidfresh frozen meals at our local Safeway. You can check out our shopping trip in my Google+ album.
Since we had four different meals, my husband decided to split the meals so each kid could try each recipe.
My husband said they smelled so good he split them four ways; each child got more than enough and he had some so he could try them too!
My husband took his job very seriously. He even jotted down notes for me:
12:15 Put plates on the table
12:16 The Kaytlin started eating first. She loved the Mac & Cheese the most. Older two started on their quesadillas.
12:19 Baby now humming happily as she starts on the Spaghetti Loops. Trevor requests that we have the Mac & Cheese for dinner tonight.
12:23 Baby finishes her Mac & Cheese and starts stealing the wheels off Maddy’s plate. Redirected Kaytlin back to her own rice.
12:27 The older two finish the rest of their food and I help Kaytlin with the rest of her rice.
The kids loved the KidFresh frozen meals! My husband also said they were delicious. Kidfresh uses the same all natural ingredients that I use in my kitchen. I really like how they “hide” extra veggies in the sauces, something almost all kids could use more of in their diet! It’s almost as if I had made and frozen the meals, but without all of the effort! These will be our new go-to dinners to make date nights easy!

I totally love how he split all of the meals between all of the kids! That makes the meals even more fun, a Kidfresh buffet! Great notes too. 🙂

I’ll have to tell my sister to look for these. She has three of her own and helps keep two more children so quickie meals are used a lot. I always worry about the salt and preservatives found in frozen food so it’s nice to know about this brand.
Thanks!

Any babysitter would appreciate the idea as it is easy to prepare. Besides nutritious, delicious its looking very appetizing as well. I’m already to think about trying each flavor for my self.
