Creating My #MomCave with Inspiration from La-Z-Boy #cbias

This past month I have seen a lot of friends and family sharing what their word for 2013 would be. At the time, I had no idea what my word would be. But after thinking what this upcoming year would bring me and my family, there are a few words that come to mind.

Change. Family. Home.

Our family of three is turning into a family of five next month with the arrival of our twin girls. It’s going to be a huge change to our household. We only had a 2 bedroom,  1 bathroom so we knew that we would have to make some changes. Starting late last year, we added an additional bedroom and we are currently prepping to finish our basement. Once the basement is finished, it will feature our main living area, a second bathroom, a guest room and a much needed playroom.

As my husband and I were figuring out all of the changes that we were making to our house, we started talking about what kind of space that I could have. In addition to my blog, I also work from home. There are times that I will try and leave the house to get some work done online but most times if I’m working in the evening I’m constantly getting interrupted by family. I’ve been wanting a space to call my own for awhile now and I’ve finally started to plan it – my Mom Cave!

Since we are turning our basement into our main living area, our upstairs living room is just going to be there. We are bringing our current furniture downstairs so it’s the perfect place to become my Mom Cave. We recently just put up a wall when we added a third bedroom so it’s the perfect size for an office and living area for me.

When looking for inspiration for my own space, I knew one of the first places to look at was La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries. Celebrating their 85th year in business, it’s a brand that I associate with comfort, quality and style.

When looking for variety, La-Z-Boy is the place to go. They offer a range of furniture that includes recliners, sofas, sectionals, loveseats and more. One of the best things is you can completely customize your furniture choice. With over 250 frames to choose from, you can also then select from over 900 covers in fabric and leather to make the furniture completely your own.

I knew that I wanted to head to my local La-Z-Boy store, but first I looked online to get inspired. One of my favorite places to visit with my family is the beach. I love all of the gorgeous, calming colors and the relaxation that I get to enjoy. I have always told my husband that I wanted part of our house to have a beach theme and my Mom Cave is the perfect place to implement that plan!

I had such a fun time browsing the La-Z-Boy website and online catalog. Here are a few of my favorite finds that I’d love to have in my Mom Cave.

I am in love with all of the above pieces! I think they would be perfect for a beach themed Mom Cave! It’s also the great place to cuddle up with my kids as we read a book or listen to relaxing music.

I’m so glad that I got a chance to go in-store! It was great to see items and fabrics in person and I loved the fantastic customer service that I received from La-Z-Boy.

I had been eyeing the Daphne Chair and a Half online for quite awhile now and was excited to finally see it in person. It’s the perfect chair to curl up with a good book, nurse my twin girls, read a book to my toddler or just work on my laptop.
