It’s been a difficult year, so you may be feeling pressure to get the perfect Christmas gifts for your family to make their holiday season special. Rest assured that your loved ones’ favorite gifts will always be time spent with you (even if it’s over a video call), but if you want a gift that they can unwrap on Christmas morning, here are some creative ideas.
For Your Sister-in-Law
Your SIL can be hard to buy for, especially if she doesn’t live nearby, or you haven’t had the chance to get to know her as well as you’d like to. No matter what your relationship, I’d recommend sending her some of the best flowers from Bouqs Co. It’s impossible to go wrong with a vibrant bouquet, and she’ll be thrilled to see the blooms show up at her door. Alternatively, if she’s a coffee lover you could get her a beautiful travel mug from eco-friendly company goBambu.
For Your Sister
Chances are there are few people you know better than your sister, so I suggest getting her a gift as intimate as your relationship. I like the idea of a bangle inscribed with a favorite inside joke (available in spades on Etsy).
For Your Brother-in-Law
One thing is true about most men; they love to eat. For your brother in law, what about a membership to one of the many awesome food subscription boxes that are available today, like a jerky or BBQ of the month club?
For Your Brother
No matter how old your brother gets, you still see him the way you did growing up, so how about grabbing him a vintage toy that’s a fun nod to his childhood? Lego sets and action figures are not only fun displayed on a shelf, but can become valuable collector’s items.
For Your Husband
If you’re stuck on what to get your spouse, start thinking small. Purchase a basket and fill it with small things he loves. Think yummy treats like sweet hampers, homemade coupons for backrubs, flashlights, tennis balls etc. Alternatively, for a working husband, a pocket watch personalized with a short message would make a useful and sentimental gift to remind him of you that’s easy for him to reach to – right in his pocket.
For Your Son
Chances are your son has kept you apprised of exactly what he wants for Christmas, and we won’t tell you not to get it for him. But whatever you decide to gift your sweet boy, consider including something sentimental too; a small framed photo of the two of you, a warm throw blanket or a special book are all ideas.
For Your Daughter
Just like your son, your daughter too has probably dropped a hint (or 10) about what she’d like from Santa this season. Whatever you gift her, consider topping it off with a special experience for just the two of you. It doesn’t have to be big — a home spa night works perfectly.
For Your Mother
All your mother really wants is to know she did a good job raising you, so make sure she knows that she did. While choosing Christmas gifts for mom, you can consider collecting several photos of the two of you together and putting them in an album with notes about what made those moments special.
For Your Father
Now that you’re out of the house and have your own family, chances are your dad really wants to just spend some time with you. Gift him a day for the two of you to do something he likes together (once it’s safe to do so) like play baseball in the park or go fishing.
For Your Parents-in-Law
For your parents-in-law, I’d recommend a gift card to their favorite restaurant (that they can get delivery from) and an up-to-date framed photo of the kids.
Christmas may look different this year, but it can still be filled with joy, and it starts with a creative gift from you.
