Disney Junior…..Disney Junior….Where the Magic Begins! Are you like me? Is Disney Junior a big part of your life? Every morning Hayden wakes up, has breakfast and then demands to watch either Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Lately, he has been interested in Babar!
When we were attending the Disney Social Media Moms Conference you have no idea the joy I felt in my heart when I discovered that we were to attend a Disney Junior Dinner and Dance Party. I knew Hayden would have so much fun and I couldn’t wait to see it!
The party was held at Hollywood Studios after the park closed on the set of Lights, Motor, Action! Extreme Stunt Show! When we first arrived Heath was in awe so see Walt’s plane. This is the plane that Walt Disney flew all over Florida picking out which land he wanted for Disney World.
On a big TV screen there was the Disney Junior logo. There were also Disney Junior signs everywhere. Hayden was getting happy seeing them, I think he knew he was in store for some fun!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous. I wish I could live in weather that was perfect 70’s with a slight breeze year round. We again had a wonderful buffet of food to choose from. The kid’s table was fantastic and had giant Mickey Mouse rice krispie treats and cupcakes. There was also grilled chicken, mac and cheese, green beans and fruit!
We could hardly get Hayden to sit down and eat though because it was a DANCE PARTY!!
We were able to listen to Nancy Kanter, who is the Senior Vice President of Original Programming of Disney Junior. Coming in 2012 there will be a 24 hour Disney Junior channel. I don’t know about you, but I am excited about that. There are a lot of times that one of Hayden’s favorite shows aren’t on Disney at the moment. Now, we will be able to find something on at all times!
With the new 24 hour Disney Junior channel launching in 2012 there will be a new show called “Doc McStuffins”! “Doc McStuffins” is about a six year girl named Dottie “Doc” McStuffins. Dottie has a backyard clinic where she talks to and heals her stuffed animals and toys! The show will stress the importance of taking care of yourself and others.
There is another new show launching called “Sofia The First”. This show is about Sofia, a little girl with a commoner’s background until her Mother marries into royalty. With the help of Sleeping Beauty characters Flora, Fauna and Merryweather, Sofia learns how to be a true Princess. She is taught the important things like honesty, kindness, courage and self-respect.
I was excited to learn more about these new shows. We also heard the exciting news that Hayden’s current favorite show Jake and the Neverland Pirates is the #1 rated show for 2-4 year olds. And it had only been out for a month! I do have to admit that I love the show!
We then danced the rest of the night away! Hayden was giddy to meet his favorite characters, like Handy Manny, Jake, Oso, Donald and Daisy but especially Captain Hook. For some reason, Hayden loves the Captain!
We also were treated to a performance by Sharky and Bones!
Disclosure: I attended the Disney Social Media Moms Conference at a deeply discounted rate. As part of the discounted rate I received park tickets, hotel stay, access to events and Swag not available to the public. We were not asked or required to write about our experience at the conference. All opinions are 100% mine!
