I have been wanting to start a few DIY projects around our house for awhile now! Both my husband and I love hardwood floors, so we have been wanting to rip up the carpet in a few of our rooms to replace with hardwood flooring. The tile in our kitchen and bathroom look like it’s actually the original tile from our house being built in the 1950’s, so that is due for some updating also!
Once we found out that we were expecting twins, both my husband and I kicked into gear to start getting things done around the house! We decided to turn our dining room (also known as the junk room!) into a 3rd bedroom and to also finish our basement – all before February! I’ve also convinced him to replace the tile in our kitchen and bathroom too!

Since we have decided to do this all ourselves, I’ve been searching online to find low price flooring for the rooms we are going to redo.
I was so excited to find Floor & Decor, who has a huge selection of porcelain, ceramic, stone, tile, wood and laminate for an affordable price!
I took a glance at the selection of solid wood flooring and also the laminate flooring, which we would love to use in our living room! I honestly can almost never tell the difference between the two and while both had awesome prices, I love the price on the laminate flooring!
The wood laminate starts at 48 cents a square foot – what a deal! I can’t decided between going with a darker color (Antique Cherry) or a lighter color (Heart Pine)!
They also have the best selection in tiles. I have spent so much time pouring over the website looking at all the different tile designs for our kitchen and bathroom – it’s just too hard to decide! I can’t wait to start this DIY project though, I really think it’s going to change the entire look of our home for a good price. I’ve even been looking at using a wet look paver sealer for our back patio too. If you are going to be doing some DIY in your house, then make sure to use the best products.
