It always amazes me when you go to an energy savings calculator and see just how much money the energy savings translates to over the course of a year! I do love to save money, so I do tend to reach for the items of a lesser price, but when you take into account how much you save over time! To illustrate this, my children created a presentation. I went to the GE Lighting Energy Savings Calculator and figured out our savings given the three options: halogen, LED or CFL bulbs. With these amazing numbers, my children planned and created this presentation using an Elmer’s Tri-Fold Foam board and Painters Markers:
The savings were AMAZING! If we switched out all of the 44 light bulbs in our home, our savings would be over $600!
What better way to spend these savings, then to give back to the local elementary school! My daughter’s teacher said that they were already running low on school supplies, just two months into the year! So we put together some Elmer’s products, a few GE Light Bulbs for the desk lamps:
And Madelyn gave them to her very appreciative Teacher!
