Whenever friends ask me if they should buy a gaming system for their kids, I always say YES! We bought Hayden a 2DS a few years ago for Christmas and it’s been heavily played in our household. I love that he can play it at home and on the go. Last year he was gifted a Nintendo 2DS XL when we visited Nintendo HQ so he was able to pass down his original 2DS to his younger sisters. The Nintendo 2DS and the Nintendo 3DS systems are the perfect way to introduce gaming to your kids. It’s an affordable system and there are so many great games to choose from. We especially love the line of Nintendo Selects games!
The Nintendo Selects games are a line of classic Nintendo games that are only $19.99 each! From Super Mario 3D Land to The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, there are so many games that you have played and loved that you can now play again. Or maybe you’ll discover a new favorite or introduce your kids to an old favorite!
The whole family has been having so much fun playing these classic Nintendo games. Even my husband and I have snagged the 2DS XL to get our play time in. And the girls patiently wait beside Hayden for their turn too – they love playing Super Mario 3D Land!
You can get any of these Nintendo Selects games in-store but you can also buy them digitally through the Nintendo Game Store! We have actually bought a lot of games through the Nintendo Game Store – we just bought Kirby Star Allies for the Nintendo Switch – but we hadn’t bought a digital game for the Nintendo 2DS XL yet. It’s actually super easy to do and we decided to try it since Hayden wanted Animal Crossing.
You will have to make sure your DS is connected to the internet. You can go to Settings to connect to the internet and also link to your Nintendo account. You can then head to the Nintendo Game Store online and purchase the game of your choice using account funds, a credit card, or a Nintendo eShop Card. The game will then automatically be sent to your Nintendo 2DS or 3DS! So easy to do and a great option if you want a game but don’t want to make a trip to the store.
If you’re ready to experience fun with some classic Nintendo games, make sure to check out the line of Nintendo Selects games – and the Nintendo Game Store online!
