A few months ago, my husband shared his five favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom. With our next trip only 2 months away {squeeeee!}, I thought I would share my five favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom too!
Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain is my favorite mountain of them all. You’ll find it in Frontierland and it’s based on the 1946 Disney classic Song of the South. I love the catchy songs and colorful scenes throughout the ride – but nothing beats that drop! Warning: You WILL get wet!
The Haunted Mansion
I may be one of the only people that like Eddie Murphy’s The Haunted Mansion movie, which is based on one of my favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom. You’ll enter a doom buggy as your Ghost Host gives you a tour of Master Gracey’s mansion. There’s 999 happy haunts – and there’s room for one more! Make sure to watch out for those Hitchhiking Ghosts, too!
Kid Tip – We have brought all our kids on this since they were 2 and none have never been afraid. Of course, it will depend on your child. The ghosts are friendly though and there’s no gore.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me! I love the Pirates of the Caribbean ride as it’s just a classic for me! It’s fun for all ages and has been in the Magic Kingdom since 1973. You’ll climb aboard a small barge and take off on a pirate adventure! Watch out for Captain Barbossa and make sure to look around for Captain Jack Sparrow!
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Okay, I’ve only been on the ride once but that has to tell you how fantastic this is! When our window opens up to get Fastpasses today, you can bet I’ll be getting us passes for this ride! Heigh-ho, heigh-ho, it’s off on an awesome ride as we go! Throughout the ride, you’ll see the seven dwarfs working in the mines as you race pass them. You’ll even catch a glimpse of Snow White herself in the cottage in the woods.
Carousel of Progress
It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow! Sure, this is the ride we go on when we want to cool down or rest our feet but it doesn’t make it any less enjoyable. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress was personally created by Walt Disney for the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair and the classic song classic song “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow,” was written and composed by the Academy Award®-winning team of brothers Richard and Robert Sherman.
I absolutely love seeing how time has changed from the turn of the 20th century to the present day and I know you will too.
I’d love to hear what YOUR favorite rides are at the Magic Kingdom! Let me know in the comments!
My favorite ride is the Haunted Mansion. I could ride & re-ride a million times. My kids love Pirates, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and that silly People Mover.
The Mine Ride is incredible! That was my favorite experience when my family was there in May. Can’t wait to go back!
I love Magic Kingdom and so many of the rides there! My favorites are probably Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, the Mine Train, It’s a Small World, and the Carousel of Progress. My children are 5 and 3 and they absolutely love the Carousel of Progress as well, they ask to go on it again and again and sing the song all the time in the year between visits.
I think you just listed my least favorite rides lol. I rode Splash Mountain once and was so terrified I can’t bring myself to do it ever again. My favorite is Space Mountain, it’s terrifying in a good way.
I love the Carousel of Progress too. I’m so glad that has stayed there all these years. Pirates is my favorite, I think!
Yes x100!! I love these rides at Magic Kingdom too. My top ride though at Magic Kingdom HAS to be Rockin’ Rollercoaster which is right across from Tower of Terror. It’s a really fast and blood rushing roller coaster.
Looks like such a fun place. I would like to go there
I have been to Magic Kingdom and it is so much fun! I like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! It was so much fun to visit and ride the rides when we were there!
Such fun rides. My favorite was Pirates of the Caribbean with the Haunted Mansion following, but I have not been there since I was kid and it has probably changed so much since I have been there.
I had so much fun on Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean as a kid.
I remember going on the first three rides at Disney Land. Lots of fun!
