We had so much fun on our Carnival Cruise a few months ago. I truly believe it’s such a fun trip to take with kids – in fact, my kids are always asking when our next cruise will be! One thing they really loved was all the fun with Dr. Seuss on Carnival Cruise Line – there are so many Seuss at Sea activities!
Seuss-a-palooza Parade
The first Dr. Seuss event we did on our cruise was the Seuss-a-palooza Parade! Everyone met in a designated place where they had fun props and signs for the kids to grab. Thing 1 and Thing 2 ran out to interact with the kids and then everyone marched around the ship chanting, “Dr. Seuss is on the loose!”. This is something my kids STILL chant today at home and was a great memory for them!
Seuss-a-palooza Story Time
On the Carnival Sunshine, our Seuss-a-palooza Parade ended with this fun story time. Take a seat and watch as one of your favorite books – The Cat in the Hat – comes to life on stage! All of the kids were able to sit ON stage if they wanted so they could get the best seat and audience members (kids and grownups!) were chosen to participate in the story time. My kids absolutely loved this and thought it was so fun!
Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast
This was also a highlight of our trip – the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast! This was toward the end of our cruise and was only $5 per person. You’ll want to make a reservation for this as soon as you’re on board because I’m going to assume it sells out quickly as it’s only offered one time!
When we arrived in the Dining Room it was completely transformed! It’s like we had stepped into a Dr. Seuss book. The tables were decorated with fun centerpieces, there was a Cat in the Hat ice sculpture and all of the waiters were dressed like Thing 1 and Thing 2 – so fun!
The menu looked liked a book and was filled with such a fun selection. I was tempted to get the Green Eggs and Ham but opted for the Fox in Socks Steak and Eggs while my husband got the Tell The Cat in the Hat, You want Your Eggs Like That. I wanted the kids to try the Truffala Tree Pancakes but they all opted for the From There to Here, From Here to There, Funny Belgian Waffles are Everywhere (which were delicious!).
There was fun entertainment by the crew and of course special appearances by The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2!
We had so much Dr. Seuss fun on the Carnival Sunshine but there’s even more Dr. Seuss fun on other ships! You’ll find Dr. Seuss Bookville (a whimsical library) on the Freedom and Vista ships! And coming soon to the Carnival Horizon will be Dr. Seuss WaterWorks! This looks absolutely amazing!
Dr. Seuss WaterWorks will feature 2 slides! The Cat in the Hat slide features an enclosed raft slide offering more than 450 feet of heart-racing twists and turns. The entrance resembles The Cat’s famous red and white hat with the distinctive color pattern carried throughout the slide in alternating translucent and opaque sections.
The Fun Things slide is an enclosed body slide with whimsical polka dots and special lighting effects and named after the mischievous duo Thing 1 and Thing 2 and encompassing 213 feet of exhilarating all-ages fun.
Dr. Seuss WaterWorks will also include a 150-gallon tipping bucket patterned after The Cat’s hat, along with a kiddie splash zone with dozens of water spray toys.
Larger-than-life images of famous Dr. Seuss characters – including The Cat in the Hat holding an inner tube, The Grinch sporting a surf board tucked under his arm, and Thing 1 and Thing 2 frolicking atop their namesake slide – will greet visitors as they enter the park, with memorable Dr. Seuss phrases displayed on clear partitions that surround the facility.
The Carnival Horizon is scheduled to make its maiden voyage April 2, 2018. It will then have a summer schedule of four-day Bermuda and eight-day Caribbean departures from the Big Apple. Carnival Horizon will shift to Miami and kick off a year-round schedule of six- and eight-day Caribbean cruises beginning Sept. 22, 2018.

Wow this is amazing! What a fun experience for Dr. Seuss fans!
My kids would go nuts over a Dr. Seuss Carnival cruise. I think it is awesome that you got to have your kids experience this once in a lifetime trip!
Looks so fun for kids
This looks like so much fun! We love Dr. Seuss.
This sounds like an awesome kids cruise!
It looks like you and your kids had lots of fun at Dr seuss carnival cruise line.
Hi there,I read your new stuff named “Fun With Dr. Seuss on Carnival Cruise Line – Sippy Cup Mom” like every week.Your writing style is witty, keep it up! And you can look our website about proxy server list.
We did all 3 of the above activities on the Carnival Triumph Jaunary 2017. Like you they did not have the Seuss themed reading room or water park. We thought the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast was a lot of fun and a good value at only $5 up-charge per person. I wasn’t brave enough to get the Green Eggs though and got the waffles same as you. The other two activities were fun, but nothing spectacular. Overall IMO some fun activities but not a real game changer as far as cruise activities go
