It’s been awhile since I had gotten my hair cut and I decided I wanted a bit of a change. Nothing too drastic – I like to still be able to put my hair up in a ponytail!
Lately, whenever I am in need of inspiration, I turn to my newest addiction – Pinterest! I have a Beauty board on there where I pin hairstyles I like and other beauty trends.
Here is one cut I have been wanting to try for awhile!

I’m scared to do it though! It’s so adorable, but a little short! I love the layers and bangs though. I knew it was time for a cut!
Before going, I had my husband take a “Before” picture of my BLAH hair. My hair just lays there and has no volume or layers!
I had some shopping to do this weekend, so I thought I would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and try out the hair salon inside Walmart!
When I got there, there were only a few people shopping the beauty products, which had a great sale going on. Many of the products were 50% off!
There was no wait to get my hair cut, so I was able to get started right away! It was so nice to get my hair shampooed and my head massaged! Since I’m always on the go, it was nice to have some relaxing “me time”. I think I would pay someone just to wash my hair!
Then it was time to get my hair cut! I was able to show my stylist some of my inspiration pictures and I originally said to cut off 2-3 inches, add some layers, make my hair look healthy and most important, be able to pull my hair back in a ponytail. I do have a toddler, you know!
Luckily, Carrie showed me her comb, which had the inches on the side. Once I saw 3 inches, I freaked out and changed my mind to 1-1.5 inches. I wasn’t ready for anything too drastic yet! I’m so glad she showed me that and didn’t just start chopping away!
The salon was empty and my stylist was the only one working so we got to talking. She said sometimes they will be slow like then and sometimes they will be packed. On New Year’s Eve, they had over 20 people waiting for hair styles!
The music playing overhead was very relaxing. It was a nice mix of oldies and soft rock hits. At one point, I kept closing my eyes and my stylist asked if I was tired! A little bit, but it was just nice to have some “me time”!
Pretty soon, my “me time” was over with and it was time to check out. My haircut was only $15.50 and checking out was easy! I gave my stylist my name and number and the paid!
Before leaving, I took a closer look at some of the beauty products they carried. There was a huge selection with some very good prices! This special caught my eye too:
A Shimmer and Shine Makeover! Only $44 for a 7-foil highlights, haircut, shampoo and blow-dry! I think I need to take advantage of this really soon!
It was great to get my hair cut and then venture out into Walmart to get all of the things on my list! Multi-tasking for the busy mom at it’s best!
Make sure to check out my entire salon experience in my Google + album!
Ready for my “After” picture? It got a little flattned by the time I got home, but I had my husband snap a picture! I love the layers and the fact that I can still put my hair in a ponytail! Looking at the picture, I’m thinking I could have gone a little shorter on the bangs!
Next Walmart shopping trip, right?
