It’s hard to believe but it’s already August. Time flies and Christmas is only 4-months away. If you’re anything like me you are already have started to think about gifts to get for your friends, family and loved ones.
I already have filled out my gift bucket list for most of the parts. The most difficult part was what to get to the seniors of my family? What would be the perfect gift?
What about the new iPad 8th?
Do seniors even use tablets or iPads? Are they tech-savvy enough to own an iPad?
Turns out there’s a market for that and Yes! Seniors do use tablets. And if you’re wondering what for they are using it – Reading, Social Media(love to call those grandchildren through facetime), Web Surfing.
Those are the most common use cases, but people also use them to watch movies, take notes, draw, play video games, etc.
It’s a great gift and a way to show that you would like to be more in touch with the person. Facetime is way better than just a call and we all know how much a call means to a senior.
What am I getting for Christmas to my Grandparents?
I made my decision and I’m going to get an iPad 8th for my grandparents this Christmas, so we can be more connected.
They learned to navigate a smartphone and I will show them how to navigate an iPad, how to get the books from Amazon Kindle, how to watch movies, and how to facetime me.
What good are gifts if they don’t bring us closer together? Isn’t that what Christmas should be about? Isn’t that what gifts are about?
Of course, this gift idea isn’t for every senior out there, I know there are many Seniors that just refuses to learn about technology, they are okay with Television, they are okay with phones, but they are NOT okay with smartphones nor iPads/Tablets, it’s not for everyone. In those cases what can we suggest?
How about a good old fashion book? You can’t go wrong with that.
Although sometimes the biggest gift is the visit, not the gift itself.
