My toddler and I play “I spy” with the ornaments on the tree. I have a self invented cookie that I only make at Christmas bc I make a HUGE mess making them (it involves a lot of steps, including choc dipping). We also make sure to donate what we can to those that have less than us.

I know it’s silly and common, but I love that everyone knows I give new jammies on Christmas Eve. It started out with my older boys, so they didn’t look like ragamuffins in the Christmas morning pictures…but it’s turned out to be quite a fun tradition… so new jammies on Chirstmas Eve and mandatory movies… A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, The Family Stone ( a newer addition), Home Alone… and a fire and coffee in the morning. I have four boys and just having as many around as possible makes my heart happy. π

I have a few favorite holiday traditions, opening gifts, (Of course), baking cookies and now that my daughter is old enough, she can help, decorating the tree well before Thanksgiving, and Santa stops by on Christmas Eve to give my family new PJ’s. Every single year. Last year, my husband yelled “HO HO HO!” and “THank you Santa!” out of our front door. My daughter came flying down the stairs and yelled “WAS SANTA HERE?!” haha she was SO excited. She didn’t stop looking out windows all night!

My favourite tradition is something we did when we were little, I plan to do it with my children when they’re old enough. We used to drive around the neighborhood just when it starts to get dark on Christmas eve and we would pop by and drop gifts off for friends.
