Cakes are yummy, and most of us have a hard time resisting them. You want them to look pretty though. Here are four ways you can make your cakes aesthetically pleasing:
Melted chocolate and chocolate chips
Melt a bar of milk chocolate (some say you should use cooking chocolate, but use the brand you like the most), and spread it across the surface. Then take a bag of white chocolate chips and press them into the melted chocolate. The result is a black and white spotted cake you can nibble on during your FoxyBingo time, or while on the phone to your friends.
Coloured icing and frosting
Making icing is extremely easy. All you need is a packet of icing mix and some water, which you mix together until the icing is thick. Basic white icing is very boring though, so add some colour to them. You can buy icing pre prepared and already coloured. However you can simply add food colouring to home made icing, before adding it to the top of your cakes. Try out different colours, and make multicoloured cakes.
Icing can only do so much. Sometimes what you need are some sprinkles to give it an added touch. Sprinkles come in many variations, including chocolate sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, and even edible silver balls. You can scatter them on top, or press them into the icing before it’s set.
Multicoloured cakes
Have you ever seen a rainbow cake? Instead of adding colour in the icing, the colours have been mixed into the cake batter and baked, to make them multicoloured. To colour them, you can separate the batter out, add food colouring to the standard yellow batter, and then fold each colour together in one bowl, before they are spooned into their container.
