There are many types of activities you and your child can do together to help increase their brain function and their hand-eye coordination. These are important for all children and will help those with gifted abilities to shine through. These are great for all children to help them gain confidence in themselves and learn how to do things like read and get ready for sports too. These activities and toys are great for children of all ages and real easy to incorporate into everyday life.
One of those activities that helps to improve your hand-eye coordination is an object relay. Start with your children or family all in a line. Put a bucket of items in front of the first child. When the children are all in a line have the first child pass the first item back to the child behind them. You can do this over their head and then between their legs until all the items are passed back. Put them in a bucket at the other end. Playing catch is also a great way to improve those hand-eye coordination skills.
Another great activity to do with your children is lacing cards. They can be in designs that your children love such as dinosaurs, animals or even cars. These cards have holes around the edges and your child will lace a piece or yarn or string through the holes. They are fun to work with and your child doesn’t realize they are working on necessary skills for later on. You could also have them place macaroni noodles on string as well. This helps them to learn how to use those fine motor skills.
One other great way to play and learn with your children is by using building block toys such as Melissa & Doug blocks These toys help children to continue to grow and hone in those hand-eye coordination skills. They also love to build towers, houses and all sorts of things their imaginations come up with. You can also check out some lap desks to encourage your child to color in coloring books or create their own art work. Dress up dolls or even magnetic art can help your child progress beautifully.
These toys and activities will help your child increase their hand-eye coordination and their confidence in themselves. Check these out and sit back to watch how your children bloom and grow. They will be having a blast and not realizing they are actually growing their minds while playing games!
