We were lucky enough to spend a week in Gulf Shores at Gulf Shores Plantation.
I was so excited about staying here and you can see from all my posts that we had a FANTASTIC time!
There are some REALLY fantastic deals going on RIGHT NOW that you will want to take advantage of!
Every 3rd night is free at Gulf Shores Plantation through February 28th!
There is so much to do just at Gulf Shores Plantation that if you don’t want to leave, you sure don’t have to!
I took a walk around the grounds of the resort and took lots of pictures so I thought I would share my walk with you!
Right as you come in, there is the Registration Office. Here, everyone was so nice when they explained where everything was at the resort.
When you want to rent any sporting equipment, you go to the office. They have everything from basketballs, volleyball, shuffleboard, tennis rackets and balls, horseshoes and putters and golf balls!
They even have a nice lounging area!
Want to rent a DVD or get some cash? The Registration Office has a DVD Now machine to rent the latest DVD’s (and some older ones too!).
Here is a distance view of some of the buildings. The tall building is Plantation Dunes, where we stayed. The long building that you see is Plantation Palms.
Across from the Office is a Basketball Court, Shuffleboard and Horseshoe pits. There is also a tennis court.
After checking out the sporting sites I kept walking straight and then took a left.
That is where you will find Plantations East, which are full of one and two bedroom condos. There is also a grilling area and of course a huge outdoor pool.
I didn’t take a picture of the outdoor pool for Plantations East, but here is a very cool picture of it from Gulf Shores Plantations website!
There is also an indoor pool over in this area. We didn’t have a chance to use the indoor pool because we had beautiful weather the whole week but I did see several people using it. The temperature was posted at a perfect 80 degrees.
In addition to the indoor pool “under the dome” there is also a hot tub, sauna, steam room and a game room!
After leaving the Plantations East area I walked straight across the parking lot over to Plantation West. This is on the very opposite side of Plantations East.
These buildings house two bedroom/two bath units and two bedroom/two bath units with lofts. There are also Sunsuites (studios) available too with beach views!
Plantation West has BEAUTIFUL grounds. The grass, flowers and trees all looked gorgeous. There are 2pool, kiddie pool, grilling area, hot tub and sand volleyball over in this area.
If you are headed toward the beach and you look to the right, that is where you will find the Plantation Cottages. I would love to stay in one of these sometime in the future!
These houses are HUGE! They are great for vacationing with extended family! And what is great is you still get to enjoy all the amenities of Gulf Shores Plantations, even though you are in a house!
Walking back past the Plantations West you come to the main courtyard between Plantation Dunes and Plantation Palms. This is where we spent most of our time!
There are 2 large pools, a kiddie pool and a hot tub. There is also a putting green, tennis courts, a grilling area and restrooms!
Here is a good overall view. This picture is from our balcony!
Lying right in front of all this action is Plantation Palms. It’s the newest addition to Gulf Shores Plantations. You can choose from one, two or three bedroom condos and these units also have washers and dryers.
Finally, there is Plantation Dunes, which is where we stayed!
On the bottom floor of Plantation Dunes there is a nice sitting area with a small library.
There is also a hot tub, sauna, exercise room, laundry facilities and vending machines.
At the bottom of the building there is a shop called Connections.
There you can buy everything you need from shirts, towels and chairs to sunscreen, toilet paper and soda.
There is also a bar where they have some beer on draft, in addition to mixed drinks and frozen drinks! They also have pizza and sandwiches!
It’s also a Starbucks!
Sip a drink on the deck and here is your view!
When we went it was limited hours, but I was told it is more open in the summer.
The condo we stayed at was on the 7th floor.
Something I love about Gulf Shores Plantations is you can take a virtual tour of all their rooms HERE!
We had a 2 bedroom condo.
The Kitchen.
The Dining Room.
Master Bedroom.
2nd Bedroom with Two Twins.
Balcony.
Of course one of the best parts of Gulf Shores Plantations is THE BEACH!
It’s a private beach just for people staying at Gulf Shores Plantations of course!
There are chairs and umbrellas that you can rent, but we brought our own!
The water was gorgeous and crystal clear. You could see all the way to the bottom until we were waist deep. We saw lots of crabs, stingray and fish!
Hayden had so much time playing on the beach and found his most treasure souvenir of the trip on the beach. A gorgeous black seashell in perfect condition!
I honestly couldn’t believe how clear the water was. When we visited Gulf Shores last year, the water was not that clear at all.
We saw tarballs ONE day and we only saw a very few. They were very scattered.

Thank you so much to everyone at Gulf Shores Plantation for a fantastic time!
