Right now we are driving on our way to Chicago!
I am SO excited! Living only 5 hours away, I can’t believe that I have only been to Chicago once.
We are headed to Chicago so I can attend the Midwest Moms Media: Brands and Bloggers Summit on Saturday.
I’m so excited to connect with some exciting Midwest Moms, awesome brands (Doubletree, GMC, Flatout Bread, Verizon and more!) and learn to grow my blog more!
We are arriving in Chicago early so we can explore the city! We will be staying at the Best Western River North Hotel and I can’t wait!
The Best Western is the only Downtown Chicago Hotel that offers FREE parking! I’ve been looking up parking costs around the city and they are high! For a family, this will definitely save some money!
It’s also close to a lot of downtown attractions and restaurants! Heath is happy that the Best Western has its own pizzeria, Pizzeria Ora. You know we will be there! 😉
As far as other attractions…I’m just wanting to explore Michigan Avenue! There are so many shops to explore!
I’m really looking forward to visiting the Shedd Aquarium. I know that Hayden will absolutely love it!
While I’m at the conference, Heath and Hayden will be visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo, one of the country’s oldest Zoos! I’m quite jealous of the fun they will have!
We will be in town until Sunday! Do you have any other suggestions on what we should do (and where we should eat?)
Make sure to follow me on Twitter where I’ll be sure to be tweeting our adventures!
Disclosure: Accommodations are being provided complimentary of the Best Western River North Chicago. All opinions are my own.

enjoy your stay (i live in the city, but not near downtown)… the Shedd is amazing. if you get a chance, try to get to a Giordano’s for pizza (though the kids may get a bigger kick out of the graffitti at Gino’s East pizza). and Portillo’s for hot dogs or burgers or beefs. oh this city has so much good food. 🙂 last i checked, it’s supposed to be in the 90s on saturday. blech. but you’ll be near the lake so hopefully it won’t be SO bad. oh and if you get a chance, try to check out Navy Pier. i think they have fireworks in the evenings on the weekends! ENJOY!!

Be sure to get some Garrett Popcorn – you can find it on Michigan Avenue or Navy Pier (there are a bunch of other locations, too). It’s the absolute BEST stuff you will ever eat. Expensive, but worth it!

my kids love Shedd, we always play games like who can spot the biggest fish. Dont foeget to bring a sack lunch to both the zoo and Shedd. Shedd has a nice seating area where you can all sit down and relax while yoi eat. When we go to the zoo we usually bring a blanket and have a picnic on the east side just outside of the zoo on the other side of the parking lot where you can have a nice view of the lake. Dont forget to take your LOs to see the farm in the zoo to see the chicks, bees and pet some animals. Also go see the childrens area where they usually have at least 1 baby. As for food investigate the neighborhoods because food downtown is outrageous! please excuse any typos Im on my phone
