Visit the Amazing Space Center Houston
Everyone has heard those famous words, “Houston, we have a problem,” at some stage of their lives. They, of course, stemmed from the ill-fated 1970 Apollo 13 mission where an explosion crippled the spacecraft. Thankfully, the astronauts managed to make it safely back to Earth.
The Space Center Houston is found at 1601 NASA Parkway and is a must-see Texas attraction. It opened in 1992 and regularly attracts more than one million visitors every year. Head inside the 250,000 square feet building, and you will be amazed by more than 400 space artifacts in the vast museum.
Among the displays is the Mercury-Atlas 9 capsule. Gordon Cooper flew this into space in 1963. Cooper orbited the Earth 19 times across 30 hours in what was an epic step into space travel for humans.
You will also find the Gemini 5 and the Apollo 17 command module. Apollo 17 orbited the Moon a record 75 times during what was the last crewed Moon mission.
Everyone in the family will love it at the Space Center Houston; how can you enjoy the miracle of space flight?
Be One With Nature at Fort Worth Zoo
USA Today named Fort Worth Zoo the best zoo in the United States, and anyone who visits tends to agree. The zoo opened its doors to the animal-loving public in 1909. The zoo only had one African lion, two bear cubs, a few rabbits, a peacock, a coyote, and an alligator back then; how times have changed.
Today, the zoo spreads over 64 acres and is home to 542 different species of animals from the world. Penguins, orangutans, elephants, rhinoceros, cheetahs, flamingos, meerkats, and hundreds of more animals are there for you to enjoy.
Visiting Fort Worth Zoo helps fund fantastic animal conservation projects, ensuring our children’s children will be able to see these magnificent creatures. The zoo has more than 110 species in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Special Survival Plan and a further 68 endangered and threatened species on the state and federal levels.
