A few weeks ago Hayden started Kindergarten and we have made sure that we have gotten into a good routine at home. I make him a big breakfast, bring him to school where he goes half day and I always have a big and healthy lunch waiting for him because he is always so hungry when he gets home! What do they do for those few hours that makes my little boy so hungry? Our family is lucky because we can have delicious and nutritious food for our kids but what about the kids in our community that go hungry every day? I was shocked when I learned last year that there were kids going hungry in our school district – you just don’t think that it’s happening in your community!
I’m excited to share with you more information about the Champions for Kids Simple Giving program going on in Southern Missouri and Arkansas. It’s so simple to participate – while you’re shopping at Walmart you can purchase snacks from the purple Simple Giving pallet and then drop them off in the donation box by the doors of the store. All of the donations will go to help children in the school district where your Walmart is located! It feels so good to help children living in your community.
You’ll find the purple Simple Giving display at Walmart and it’s full of nutritious snacks that kids will love. Here’s a few of the items you’ll be able to donate:
Emerald Nuts 100 Calorie Packs
These packs are great for on-the-go snacking and are delicious! They are a great snack for little ones to stay full in between school and dinner.
Dole Fruit Bowls and Squish’ems
Kids will love these fruit snacks on the go! They are a perfect addition to lunch at school or an afternoon snack! My son loves them because they are delicious and easy to eat
Dasani Drops
It’s so important to drink water but most kids don’t like the taste! With Dasani Drops, you can add a few drops to add delicious flavor and sweetness to water. It’s available in 6 different flavors and is naturally flavored and 0 calories.
Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks
What more can I say about fruit snacks? Kids love these fun Disney fruit snacks that are made with REAL fruit, contain only 70 calories and are fat-free!
Help your community with Simple Giving!
If you’re like me, you’ll be picking up a few things at Walmart in the next few days. Through September 8th at Southern Missouri and Arkansas Walmart stores, be on the lookout for the Simple Giving display! Pick up a few items to drop in the donation box as you leave the store and feel good knowing you helped kids in need in YOUR community!
You can learn more on the Champions for Kids Simple Giving website and follow the #SimpleGiving hashtag on Twitter and Instagram.
Will you be shopping at Walmart and participating in the Simple Giving campaign?

This program seems so convenient. With younger kids, its risky to send them to school with anything in hopes that it’ll make ti to the right spot so being able to leave them at the store is perfect.
They should do that nationally, not just in your region!
I wish they did this nationally! It’s not in my area, but it is very cool! I would love to support this for our local schools! I also love that they deliver it right to the schools for you! Love this.
What a great program. I wish they would do it in my area too.
I really like this program. It’s too bad they aren’t doing a nationwide campaign.
I love that they make it an easy way to give back!
I am so glad that I read this post today because I did not even know that this was going on. I will look for the display and buy some of these items to help the children in my community. What a great program that Walmart is doing.
this would be so great if they did this all over this could help so many children
What a great way to give back, I am in CA they should do this nationwide.
What a great program. This is such a simple easy way to give back to your community. I love it. I wish they did this program on a National level so we all could join in and help.
I love Kelloggs fruit snacks this would be a great item to donate since most kids love these.
I’ll have to check and see if they offer it here in Colorado. Needs to be nationwide.
Dole Fruit bowls would be a great snack to donate.
Thanks for spreading the word about #SIMPLEgiving 🙂
