It’s hard to believe but this year, the classic Honeycomb cereal turns 50! It’s actually been quite a few years since we have had Honeycomb cereal in our house so when Honeycomb sent me some, I was quite excited to become reacquainted with it. When I got the box, I put it in our pantry intending to have a bowl the next morning or to make a fun recipe with it. I was downstairs in the basement that next morning when my husband called down to ask me what was going on with the box of Honeycomb and if he could have a bowl. I said sure and he happily came down with a bowl, proclaiming it’s been years since he had a bowl of the delicious cereal and how it reminded him of his childhood. I can’t tell you how fast our family went through that box!
Honeycomb cereal has that sweet honey taste and a fun shape that is perfect for a variety of recipes. I was excited to make a Honeycomb S’mores Snack Mix, the perfect treat for the whole family when it’s just too hot to actually go outside and roast some marshmallows!
This is about the easiest snack mix to make! Just take Honeycomb cereal, cut up chocolate bars{ or chocolate chips}, mini marshmallows and mix together! I didn’t try this but I think you could microwave it to make it an ooey, gooey delicious snack!
Since 1965, Honeycomb’s one-of-a-kind playful shape and sweet honey taste have made the cereal a breakfast classic that is not only great in the bowl, but also a flavorful addition to treats. Honeycomb cereal is perfect for baking and creating, giving familiar types of recipes a whole new taste. With simple snack mix such as Monkey Munch or muffins with a playful twist like Morning Cereal Muffins, Honeycomb is sure to get you and your top chefs in training creative in the kitchen!
I’m so glad to have re-introduced Honeycomb cereal into our family! What recipes will you make with Honeycomb cereal?
