I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for CaringBridge. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
8 years ago, my cousin Elizabeth was ten years old and on vacation in California with family. After complaining of being sick and being admitted into the hospital, they removed a “baseball-size” tumor. She was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Ependymoma Anaplastio. Throughout the past 8 years, friends and family have been able to keep updated on Elizabeth’s journey on a website called CaringBridge.
The fantastic news is that Elizabeth is currently in remission and recently graduated high school and is off to college in a few weeks!
In 1997, Sona Mehring created the first CaringBridge website when a close friend endured a life-threatening pregnancy. CaringBridge is a non-profit website that has served as a lifeline of hope, bringing together families struggling with illnesses and tragedies. It is now used by over 500,000 people a day with 44 million unique visitors over the past year!
Sona Mehring, the founder of CaringBridge is inspired by these uplifiting stories of love, support and bravery. In her new book, Hope Conquers All, she shares these important collections of stories to inspire hope. Stories range from young children with cancer to adults awaiting transplants and these first-person accounts share the importance CaringBridge had in their personal journeys.
If you’re looking for uplifting tales to share with those who are in need of love and support or even to just reflect on how brave these individuals were through such troubled times, you must check out Sona Mehring’s book, where all proceeds will go to help CaringBridge! I definitely look forward to checking it out!
I’ve never used it, but I have been to the site to read stories about people (through links posted on facebook). What a wonderful service to these families.
Elizabeth is so beautiful. I’m glad that her cancer is in remission!

What a great place to get some help when you are going through a rough time.
A friend of mine was in the Grand Canyon with her family last year when a rock fell and hit him in the head. Extensive damage was done and he had to be airlifted out of the bottom of the canyon the next morning. It was heart-breaking, and I wouldn’t have been able to keep up with them without Caring Bridge – it’s such a great service.
Yes, we used it when a friend was dying of cancer. We coordinated caring and visits and it was very helpful.
What a very inspiring book to read. And I am so glad that Elizabeth is in remission and she is able to have a great life. I will have to remember if I need to I will use a Caring Bridge!
