My family loves having movie nights! We usually have them on Friday nights and the kids spend all week talking about it. I always like to have themed food and activities with them and I hope they’re an activity the kids will look back on when they are older as a fun family memory. For our latest family movie night, we had a viewing of Hotel Transylvania 2, which is available now on Blu-Ray and Digital!
Everything seems to be changing for the better at Hotel Transylvania! However, Drac is worried that his adorable half-human, half-vampire grandson, Dennis, isn’t showing signs of being a vampire. So while Mavis is on vacation, things get batty as Drac enlists his monster friends Frank, Murray, Wayne and Griffin to put Dennis through a “monster-in-training” boot camp!
For our Hotel Transylvania 2 movie night, it was all about fun! From yummy treats to a fun science experiment, we had a movie night to remember – and you can too! While we watched the movie, the whole family enjoyed Frank’s Brownies, Murray the Mummy Juice and Drac’s Cookies. After the movie, we decided to make Blobby the Blob, a fun slime-filled experiment for kids!
Hotel Transylvania 2 is available now on Blu-Ray and Digital! It’s full of so many family friendly extras. We loved watching them and were cracking up! We loved the Sing Along with Monster Scary-Oke and How to Draw Your Favorite Characters but Hayden LOVED the Fifth Harmony Music Video: “I’m In Love With A Monster”! He just couldn’t stop dancing!
You’re going to want to make sure to watch all the extras!
Frank’s Brownies
Frank is one of my favorite characters in Hotel Transylvania 2, so I knew we had to have a treat in honor of him. For this, all you’ll need are brownies, green frosting, black frosting and edible eyes!
Murray the Mummy Juice Boxes
Everyone loves Murray and everyone loves juice! These Murray the Mummy juice boxes were super easy to make for our movie night. All you need are juice boxes, white tape and googly eyes!
Dracula’s Cookies
Of course, we need a treat for Drac! These Dracula Cookies are easy to make and fun to eat. Plus, they will be the hit of the party! For these, you’ll need Oreos, white frosting and edible eyes.
This was by far the most fun experiment to do! Both Hayden and I enjoyed making it.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Borax
- Elmer’s Glue
- Water
- Green Food Coloring
How to make it:
- In one bowl, mix a bottle of Elmer’s Glue and 1/2 cup of water. Add a drop of green food coloring to make sure you get Blobby’s green color.
- In a different bowl, mix 1 teaspoon of Borax with 1 cup of water until the Borax is completely dissolved.
- Add the first bowl with the glue mixture to the second bowl of Borax solution, mixing slowly.
- You’ll see the slime start to form right away! Keep mixing with your hands and have fun!
We had so much fun with our Hotel Transylvania 2 Movie Night and I know you will too!
